This was so helpful! For anybody who’s baked model is getting weird holes in it, try making the extrusion higher. If your model has extreme dips/bumps on it that go in or out a whole lot it’ll make the two models intersect and screw it up with the wrong extrusion. Dips need high extrusion and I believe bumps need low

So, before baking, does the low poly model need to be a little larger than the high poly model? For more details? Thanks.

I have a question my model has holes in it is there a reason its only a couple but its pretty obvious I’ve already tried messing with the extrusion and max ray distance setting is it the topology or something else

In the middle of the legs and under the arms the normal map is colliding, it is not uniform, how do I solve it?

Hi Damian, I have a question and I hope you can answer it. which normal maps are better the one created in Zbrush or blender.

I don’t know but I assume they are basically the same, since the definition of a normal map is quite clearly defined.

@@DamianMathew thanks Damian for replying. I think mw question was wrong in the first. usually a normal map is a result of a 3D model in the majority of time a 3D sculpt. so the question should be which software sculpt the best or show more details, Blender or Zbrush. in this case I think zbrush from what I have read in some web sites. so if we have better details means better normal maps. so we may conclude that zbrush normal map is better than blender. I hope I am not lost on this explanation

What's the most efficient way/tool to bake a normal map?. I keep getting failures with blender.

substance maybe. else I do think blender should also do the job.
