    EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. ... I saw people at the park never progress. One day a local was Practicing falling on pads. He was getting made fun of a lot. about 6 months later he was getting massive air and was the best local skater. Everyone else was still doing stalls and rock to fakie.

    You young kids might be thinking I know it all I don't need to listen to nothing,but I will tell you the coolest thing I noticed was how well pros skate out of a missed trick ,if they lose their board,I think the first time I noticed how smooth they go ride on to their knee pads from a missed trick I was watching the X games may be it was my second or third year and Tony lost his board and he came down on the same angle so cleanly it looked like he was still riding his board but he was just sliding on his knees but watching it you didn't even notice till he stopped moving and he jumped up and his board wasn't there it was still coming down behind him and I was like wow these guys are reall6 dialed in this stuff to be that smooth without his board under him....its really not that hard but like all of it practice practice.....I was lucky enough to have a half pipe I could skate 8 to 10 hours a day but things really got fun when I got help from a vert pro....it helps when u pay attention to right person and the right things,don't focus on the finger or you miss all the heavenly glory...hmmm where did I hear that before,let me see.....

    You should invest in pads. I got these pads right here and they feel so comfy when I fall. www.amazon.com/dp/B016U4R6II/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B016U4R6II&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=a54d13fc-b8a1-4ce8-b285-d77489a09cf6&pf_rd_r=YJGH02A64DWNCVY324HW&pd_rd_wg=yHqit&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=ocTxq&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=f56316b8-aa1f-11e8-a16e-f165ee31ead5 They are BMX ones but they are super comfy and I think it would save you a hospital bill or two. You can wear them biking too.

Nah I'm just learning pools and bowls and enjoying the speed of concrete wow is this stuff fast and smooth I used to have to work my butt of on plywood pipe to get high concrete had so much speed a little less grip but its cool.thanks Andy...

    I wear everything; a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist/hand pads. Yesterday I wiped out so hard and it felt like I landed in a pile of pillows but if I didn't wear anything then I would probably be in surgery to repair a shattered patella.

    I've learned this part finally. After never getting confidence as a kid, I'm now 26 and totally out of shape and getting back into skating. I bought knee pads for the first time and I'm determined to take my time and get into pools and bowls. My question is how to apply these methods from the top of the ramp? I'm still afraid of getting into the vert section cause it feels like I'll be falling to the flat no matter what.

    @@kevin_kevinsonultimately, no. I'm 29 now, I haven't been out skating since last summer and am itching to get back out there. I keep my board in the car too but I have no excuses, I need to go skating. It does seem that everytime I get back to skating every summer my understanding of what I should be doing seems more cemented in my head, but fear of injury gets worse with age 😅

    @@kevin_kevinson ah yeah, the pain of falling is so much worse than when I was 10. And I didn't like it back then either lol. Yeah in 6th grade I couldnt skate for about 6 months because of a surgery I had and thats when I finally got a guitar. Needless to say that was the transion into music and out of skating. I'm way better at music than skating now. I don't regret learning music but I'm definitely getting old because I quit skating

    Thanks man a lot,yeah pads are really important if you wanna walk when you hit 60 years old,whenvu started it was on a giant plywood half pipe at an indoor skate park 1976 or 77,and the plywood ate my gloves in two and half days and that was leather with a half inch foam pad on the palm with leather over that again,and the plastic knee caps holes in them along with small fires on the backs of my real skate pant it help me greatly the burns were so serious I started nailing all my airs I never fell ever again,believe it or not....really pretty funny but burn are no fun...man today's parks are so slick and skatelite on pro ramps no friction only difference is not as much grip for launching,finding the right wheels has been tricky I want 58s fast with a ton of grip,no luck so far...a vert wheel...see you all later thanks,you can practice a lot of vert stuff on flat land till you get dizzy and you really need to get your balance down front to back on board and side to side,nose wheelies real wheelies and fakies probably help more than anything every body skates good in their given direction but how about the other way backwards,I bet you suck....hah ha just kidding....I hate fakies that why I always make myself do them my concentration goes way up when I practice fakie.When I skate front foot forward my speed is a 12 on 1 to 10 scale,backwards 6 may be...piece out thanks again....good ruck...wit ur new mission.

  • @a.wcomicpublications4186

    @a.wcomicpublications4186

    6 жыл бұрын

    Daniel Graham if you are doing a front side air you would have to bail in order to slide but make sure you hold on to your deck so that you don't hit anyone or damage the skateboard there are many ways to manuver and bust out tricks you don't have to copy exactly what you see others doing remember that your tricks will always be executed differently and it's not about you landing every trick but having fun playing this sport.

    This is great but it would be good to know how to come off the board and *then* onto the kneeslide, on transition! On a vert ramp, it's fast and scary. From board, off, then straight onto knees is actually a tricky move when you're high up. It's even hard to practice!
