Thanks so much!
Your tutorials are by far the best on here thank you
I learned how to fakie fs 180 and that helped with the weird feeling of the bs 180
just nailed this today and it has become my fav, thanks!
hey tom you helped my land my first good backside 180 I’m exicted to go into front side 180’s
Thank you Tom!!!
Hey Tom, just want to say that your tutorials are awesome. Because of them I finally landed a frontside bigspin with the board spinning the full 360, and the toes in the center tip for backside bigspins has really helped in improving mine. Keep up the good work. One thing I'm working on now is being able to late backside 180. I say "late" in the sense of shifting backside at the peak, to be able to backside tail slide a tall ledge. Have not seen any tutorials that explain that properly.....yeah I have watched all the backside smith or back tail tutorials out there, but none yet has given me the key hack for it. I have gotten some clues here and there, and I'm pretty sure it's all in the front arm/ shoulder moving back to frontside ( which is counterintuitive). And even in this video I can see what a key role arms play...with you lifting them above your head. No tutorials talk about how lifting arms above head helps with pop. Anyways, just an idea for a future tutorial for when you get to the intermediate/advanced ones. Best of luck and thanks.
Kind tutorial thank you😊
Thank you Tom, your channel is very helpful. Do you have some tips for backside 360 (full rotation) plz ?
hell yeah best tips tbh

My pleasure! So stoked to be able to help improve your skating!
Your shirt is very fitting haha
I can backside flip and big spin but I suck at back 1s so I'm going back to basics
I think you should say about front foot. How it should move ) forward and back
Thanks Tom 😂
Also you forgot to mention your body weight distribution. I use to struggle with this trick. I would do the bs 180 and I would roll away the wrong direction. You really want to put your weight more forward when you land. Helps to ride around switch stance to get the feeling rolling away switch as well.
11+ years of skating off and on and I still can’t land this trick. It saddens me 😢

Which part of it is giving you the most trouble?

@@toms_tutorials The board always ends up behind me and under rotation.

@@GANGgangSk8 Hmm, that must be frustrating. Do you have pretty good ollies? Because what helps me with getting bs 180's around is really popping and pointing your board like you do for an ollie. When you point it, it actually helps your board turn. Also make sure you're really winding up and twisting your shoulders right before you pop. There's also the scoop way where you don't need as much pop, but the shoulders are still just as important. Lastly, have you tried leaning more over your toes or your heels while you're in the air to try to better keep the board under you?

@@toms_tutorials I’m gonna focus on winding up my shoulders more before I pop. I took screenshot of your bs 180 compared to mind and it looks like I need to winding up more.

@@GANGgangSk8 got you, it sounds like that should help! You really gotta wind up and swing those shoulders in the direction you’re turning *before* you pop. That’s what helps your lower body to follow your torso once you do pop. Let me know if it helps!
I've been trying to get my backside 180s higher. I find it hard to slide the front foot up while rotating so I end up setting my foot on the first two front bolts and that helps get them. Buthopefully they'll come with time. :)

One thing that might help is to just think of turning 90 degrees, and your body will naturally turn the rest of the way. If you do that, and focus on pointing your ollie by sliding that front foot forward fast, that should help it pop and you should still make the full rotation. By pointing it like that too it can help your board better rotate.
I learned this trick the scoop way but I'm trying to transition to doing them popping and it's really confusing
Making a backside 180 tutorial wearing. A shirt that saying frontside is hella comedic for me 😂
My biggest issue with this trick or any backside trick is the board doesn't like to stay under my feet and my back foot will land in front of my tail and get whacked upon landing (after the full rotation). The other issue I have is sometimes my board will fly out from under my feet behind me and catch on my heels. I've never been good at backside 180's but my frontside 180's are one of my strongest tricks.
this guy just seems so nice
Where can I buy that shirt?
for me i like to not scoop because when i scoop its not that high so i just turn my shoulders then pop a regular ollie and then it works out
This helped so much I also noticed your top says frontside instead of backside 😂

But have you seen the "back side?!"
I'm so mad I had that same deck and left it at the skatepark recently, went back in the morning when I noticed it want in my car and lost it when it wasn't there :(😭
Fakie big spin???
Man I’m having such a hard time with this one. My board ends up flipping like a bs heelflip. I just want the 180 😭
I think a big takeaway is the weight distribution, weight towards back u gucci
Me who’s been skating for 4 years and can’t do this trick
damn... that t-shirt is so confusing...
I dont get why she was laughing when you fell
