Very helpful topic, thanks for sharing sister. Another option to avoid childcare expenses in the UK is to find a term time job so your work schedule works around your child's school schedule. You can basically work in a school. Actually applicable to does parents with 5-16 y.o. child/children on full-time education.

Since your eldest child is 17 she/he can support you with looking after the younger children. A lot of people work late shifts or night shifts to cut down on child care expenditures. Or if they have a partner one works days and the other works nights-then they sync their working lives so they have the same days off.

I will say about 6 months especially if you will sponsor the person,as you need to show your 6 months pay/ bank slips.

As long as you inform your employer and your pregnancyis not too advanced, it should not stop you but some employer will refuse,if they refuse look for another employer.

If my mother is on visitor visa for two years.. then she stays for six months and goes back home. How long does she have stay outside UK before she returns to UK for six months again?

I am in UK for a year now. Have 2 kids in India. My husband's police clearance certificate is not ready due to some issues. Case is not finishing only. My parents r too I'll to come n take care of kids. What advice I can get from u about these.??. Can I bring at least my elder kid here who is 7 years now. Maybe join groups that helps with child care, I mean students in the same situation as you or you may need to search for a child minder which is very expensive.Good luck.

No specific age,7/8 years old goes to school alone depend on the school rules. Babies and toddlers should never be left home alone. Children under 12 years old shouldn't be left home alone for long. Children under 16 years old shouldn't be left alone overnight. Over 16 year olds shouldn't be left alone frequently for long periods of time or for multiple nights. Children should never be left in a home that could put them at risk - like with no electricity or heat, or with dangerous objects.
