I'm hard stuck gold for 3 years now... for last 3 months I started watching your videos and now day by day I'm getting better... I'm the exact example of a person stuck in the toxic behavior of becoming miserable after reaching gold 4 and not being able to climb further, creating new accounts and shit like that... hopefully I'll be able to break that cycle this season and let's see how far I can go with your tutorials and knowledge you shared with us ^^

I absolutely needed that video, this is EXACTLY how it went for me the last couple of seasons, I got to a specific rank, set myself some goals and areas I want to learn or focus at more and had a loss streak, changed my champ pool or lane and it just went downhill from there, like always. Though it never occurred to me, that it's because I'm learning those areas I've set for myself and shifting my focus from other things resulting in losing games, making bad decisions and so on. Your video just shed light into my situation and I'm very thankful for that, dude! I'll set myself up to stick with what got me to a rank and not let it get to me when I start losing LP, whilst working towards my goals! Also the way you described on how to set small goals towards that bigger goal and be happy about just tracking the enemy jungler for a couple minutes and making that muscle memory first, instead of trying too hard to do it from start of the game until the end of the game from the beginning of your learning curve, sure helps a ton! Thanks dude, also earned my sub as that's the 1st video I've ever seen from you!

I've gotta say, I discovered your channel in October and your videos has helped me grow, not only as a league player but as a person. I have gotten better knowledge of how to handle situations and HOW to learn. I have managed to go from high D3 to mid D1 since October and I am trying to make Masters before S11 (no big deal if I don't make it, just a fun goal to have). Something you should mention is the importance of what you do outside of League. Your sleeping schedule, your diet and physical activity. If you are not feeling well (mentally and physically) you will have such a harder time to learn new things and adapt. I make sure to have a stable sleeping schedule, weekdays and weekend (though the holidays have messed it up a bit tbh). I think about what I eat, not excessively but I make sure to get my makro and micro nutrients and lastly I go for a 3-4 km high tempo walk about once every other day and this helps to pump blood into your brain and make you more awake. You might already have talked about this and in that case my bad, must've missed it.

Thanks Coach for all your videos, this was a great representation of what has been happening for me this season. I would consistently implement something new to my game I learned from you or gameplay and focus on mastering that. I spent this season constantly learning and I dropped from d3 last season down to plat 1 for a majority of the season. I had a basic understanding of the game last season but had great laning/ roaming but lacked in almost every other area. I am now back up to diamond 3 with only 400 ranked games and things are so much easier than last season where I felt completely unprepared and outclassed when i hit that d3/d2 mark. I'm so excited to see what I can achieve in season 11 with everything ive learned from you and VODs. Curtis you are amazing and you deserve all the fame that is snowballing your way. Keep it up! You are going to increase the skill level of every region in no time

As I stopped climbing I swapped my champ pool away from the one champion I used to climb (veigar) and I made my season to hell because of the fact that I was a bronze player that only knows how to play veigar like a gold player. I realised that league it s not just one champ. My goal was to learn more champs and to learn more about the game at all so I started playing played vladimir.(I love this champ) and watched ur mid lane fundermantal playlist. I am learning the matchups on vladimir right now and ur great videos are helping me a lot with it. As I started my bronze to hold climb I didn't even know it s possible to watch replays. Dude I want to thank you so very much for this amazing video... I've been a support only player for about 7 years and this preseason I decided I wanted to change. So I started playing Mid and I could successfully play against opponents of my own rank in plat 1/d4. But then I started learning new things and then my performance just dropped. I started to lose, dropped ranks, and also friends telling me to give up and go back to support... I just couldn't get why focusing on the wave management, macro decisions and on the map would just not earn me any positive result at all... I'm so thankful, GG.

i am learning so much from your videos and actually right now i had one of the games i am more proud of, other's team mid wasn't even that good but since when i started playing assasins in preseason, switching from champs like ori and control mages, i have never felt more aware of sidelanes and i actually felt i carried the game through macro instead of the enemy mid just being bad, keep up the good work, i started playing this season and if it wasn't for you i would have never achieved the results i got(i climbed from iron 1 to plat 4). Great visdeo as always! edit: just wanted to ask some tips on how to get used to playing on unlocked camera, since i played with the locked one since i started playing whenever i try to unlock it it feels so weird

You know this reminds me of machine learning. It learns by trying a billion ways to succeed, while only focusing on small improvement markers until the final goal is reached. It may have failed a billion times to get to that final goal, but once a machine is properly taught, no human talent can match it in that domain. Not too long ago an AI beat the worlds best Dota team using this method.

this is relatable, started league in february went 1/9 in my placements didnt know shit from iron 1 I went to b1 and stayed there for months then started playing to improve and got to g4 in a week with 84% winrate , I was learning and improving but also was lucky then I hit the plateau, my confidence went through the roof and I started to questiong my skill and learning process, switched to mid lane and ended the season G2 peak bo5 plat next season my goal is plat ii and I will play 2-3 games a day at max reviewing the ones I cant understand whst went wrong Youre the best teacher Ive ever had and Im not even exaggerating, thanks for the free accessible content

for sure, for me the most important thing was map awareness and understanding matchups I was one tricking shen at the time and one famous otp had a spreadsheet with all the matchups, this was really helpful, a losing matchup is only a lost lane if you dont know how to play it and as shen i found myself looking at the map much more, i sometimes ulted in situations where i was trading with my opponent and knew they didnt have cc also disable chat, you will never have a good experience with it, literally nothing someone say will help you at lower elos dont spam 4+ games a day and take break in between, also water can prevent tilting at least for me good luck!

Hi, Curtis! I'm a great fan of your work here on youtube, quality content must be praised. I wonder if I can suggest you a theme for a video? See, I'm a support main and I wanted to change to midlane, and my favorite midlane champion and the one I chose for this transition is Neeko, because I find her kit very strong and intuitive, she's not frequently banned, and she's also very fun to play. I wanted to ask you if you could do a video giving us your insight on her, a guide with tips and tricks on her build, her role in the game, power spikes, etc., like the Lucian video or that Annie one a few months ago (I lost track of how many times I watched the latter). I'd be very happy to see a Coach Curtis video on Neeko and I'd surely watch it over and over again until I'm a strong tomato 🍅!

This is genius, you should make a TED talk about this because it could be applied to almost everything. LEARNING, you apply fully capacity at your level, but if ever you want to become better at something you will have to lower your capabilities before eventually incorporating a new skill into your field and it requires less brain capacity. I've experience this a lot in my sports, which is combat sports. This is fantastic and I've learned a REAL life lesson from you.

What you said about champion pool at 11:00 definitely hits home for me. This is absolutely true, i played 600 games of evelynn in a few months and shot from plat 4 to diamond 2-1, after being stuck for a bit i decided wow i need some champs that can impact early, and swapped to for example.. rengar or hecarim.. whatever, and obviously no mastery so back down i go to d4. it's so true.

You can also Vod review yourself. What you do right after the game, is watch your game, but in every bit of conflict you had with the enemy, you slow the reply to .25 speed, and see every skill you hit/ missed, times you stayed a bit too long in minion aggro, how long your CD had left, your position before it happened, the time you used your potions, where you aimed your skill and how close was it to missing? - and so many more. I did this with learning Fiora and within 10 games, saw/felt improvements in my play. Essentially, what you do is: look at everything you did wrong. Look at everything bad that happened to you. Look at if your success was more closer to failure than it was to success And most importantly, look and see if your success was achieved because your ideas and techniques were actually good, and not that the enemy miss played.

This explains why after 4 months in gold 3 and 4 i am now down in silver 1 and even silver 2 a brief moment and i am in the danger zone. The best this you have is keeping it simpel and be aware of mental stacks. In my case i focus almost only on getting 6+ farm pr minute while trying to trade AND play champs i am not comfortable whit. I will no go back to my comfort picks and try to improve 1 thing at the time while trying to focus my mind before even going into a game.

Damn, I really needed to hear that (11:57). I usually am proud of having low games and a high rank, so I can say to my friends that I do not play ranked, but still be somewhat of a high rank compared to my friends (solo and flex at p3, around 60 games). I don't flame or tilt a ton, but I do set unrealistic expectations, thinking I should win every game, and if I plateau I am bad and should switch something in my playstyle/champion instead of learning things I'm good at. Also, I have 4 accounts :(
