Please can u do that with calculations. For example A1 + B1 =C1 can this formula work automatically without the stress of dragging.

How do I increase numbers by a percent amount already in the spreadsheet

I want to use this formula (or a similar one) to add reference numbers for each row (containing client addresses) on the spreadsheet. Is there a way that I can make it so that it doesn't just use the row number but instead could be like GA1.1, GA1.2, GA1.3, etc? Thanks in advance!

How do you auto update the row numbers inside a formula. Eg, countif(A1:a5,""), I want A5 to automatically update inside a formula when I the row number in a different cell.

For those of you that have asked if the list starts at row 2 and not row 1: If you enter “=row()-1” (without the quotations) it will work for you. You can change “-1” to whatever you need it do be to make up the difference of where the actual list starts verses the row number.

For counting from second row, use Row( )-1

Would =(selecting the cell above)+1 work just well and be even more adaptable?

How i add 1 -10 in.one column A1 and 11-20 in.column B1 and 20-30 in.coulmn C1. Auto

In cell B1 I want to type the number in, and have that number automatically enter in the table in cell A1. Than when i type the second number in cell B1, i want the number from A1 to drop to A2 and have the new number go on top "A1". I want to do this each time i type a new number in cell B1. How can i create this rule????

If you start at number 1800 hover over the bottom right corner of the cell, a cross will appear. Next hold down the control button( will turn to small + sign) then just drag down. Hope that helped.

CTRL+ Enter instead of just Enter. CTRL + Enter will fill in all highlighted cells with the data you just typed in the active cell

This formula it cannot work in my computer.so how should I solved this problem

I want excel to assign a unique number to each row and i want that number to NOT change if I sort my table or if I delete a row. In other words if I have 15 rows and I enter a 16th row I want Excel to auto name it serial number 16 and that serial number will stay with that row no matter if other rows are added or deleted and no mater how I sort those rows. How can I do that?

I am currently trying to work out a better way to do this, but the solution I have at the moment is to find an empty cell and add this code =COUNTIF(A2:A1001,"*") This looks in column A and counts how many rows have information in them. Then I type this code in the first cell where I want the number list to start =SEQUENCE($M$1,1,1,1) You will need to change M and the first number 1 to whichever cell you put the countif code in, so if you put the countif code in F6, you'd change it to =SEQUENCE($F$6,1,1,1) The two $'s are to lock the code to that cell. You may already know some of this but I thought I'd explain it in case you haven't come across it. This code also keeps cells blank when not in use but it doesn't shift the number down/lock it to the row so you have to be careful adding rows in the middle of a dataset as it moves the ID which can be an issue depending what you are using it for.

=SEQUENCE(COUNTA(A2:A1000)) This is a much more elegant solution that does the same as my first post, it will count how many entries there are in Column A (for 1000 rows, but you can change this number to whatever you want) and then it will create a sequence wherever it sees an entry in Column A. This does create the same issue where it will shift down the IDs/numbers when you create a new row in the middle of a dataset. If you simply add data at the bottom of the table, it will just keep giving it an ID/number. You can also write text before the Sequence code to add text, e.g. ="No. "&SEQUENCE(COUNTA(A2:A1000)) would make a list that looks like No. 1 No. 2 No.3 etc..

When I do this it just repeats the numbers 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3

Why is the into 15 seconds long?
