Great idea, I built a similar set up although without humidity control and it works great as a small size hobby frutting chamber, even for oyster mushroom. I would be cool to used in classrooms so kids can see the growth every day at school :)

Agreed!
Filter patches but … isn’t the fan blowing contaminated air over the substrate?

if its negative pressure pulling air into the tub through the filters then its fine, not sure how long the fan will last with high moisture air though

The filter patches help contain moisture inside the box more than it does to keep contamination out. The blocks you'd put in a fruiting chamber are fully colonized so they aren't as prone to contamination as they are during their colonizing period.

You aren't supposed to add the fan and humidifier until the tub is fully colonized. At that point, the substrate is very resistant to contamination and doesn't require the same level of cleanliness.

@maxst8831 it's positive pressure. Blowing air IN

Can we grow oyster mushroom in this monotub?

Yes!
I always thought the whole point of a monotub is that it should already be auto without this fancy equipment

You make a very valid point, however monotubs are most often associated with growing a single species of mushrooms. We've designed our tub to be compatible with many different species, particularly species that are very sensitive to CO2, like oyster mushrooms.

@@NorthSpore What about Golden Teachers?
Doesn’t led light emits heavy metals? Not healthy for humans, how does this translates to mushrooms?
@NorthSpore

Interesting concern, thanks for sharing it. This kit doesn't currently contain any LED lights, but even if it did, the lights wouldn't be releasing heavy metals unless they were broken in some way. Even if there was a risk of lights releasing heavy metals, you could just keep the lights outside of the bin.

I believe the issue is more of the disposal part. What happens to all those when they fail, recycle or trash can?
