Sir, In that dimensional constraint the dimension is preceeded by the letter 'd'. How to remove that from dimension

i understood the function of these tools, but where is it applicable/how it is used in actual drawings ? how does it help in completed drawing/complex drawing because if i change one dimension all other can get disturbed or disproportionate/misaligned.
