How to Aquascape with Marco Rock - Guide to build an amazing negative space rock structure
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
I am really proud of this aquascape I have built to go through the center of my big new dream reef tank. It complements my existing rock structure and provides heaps of room for corals, caves, arches, water-flow and looks amazing!

lmao that cat scared me when it jumped up on the tank. These vids got me inspired to scape my nano tank.
That smoke and odour from the chemical reaction is fricking potent! Highly recommend very good ventilation, and even some air movement with a fan or something, if spending a couple hours building these. Looking good!! 👌

Yea felt like I had the flu half way through lolol
Great Work!!
Inspiring rockwork!
Great video thanks. About to move into a new tank and will be building all new scape for it. This is super helpful! Thanks again.
Very creative hard scape Markus! Very trendy design and I'm looking forward to seeing you add it to your tank!
Great video, the results look amazing!

Thanks!
I used this technique too. Very strong and very easy. I made an accelerant out of RO and bicarb which I sprayed on with a spray bottle.
Great looking scape Marcus 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧

Thanks so much!
Could you do an update on this build. I would love to see this after a year,????
nice vid, i got inspiration from bonsai tree pics for my first scape
I have to say, all of the ones I have seen have not really enamoured me... especially the joints. But this and the joins look really cool. Well done!!

Cause KZread is bullshit. Sick scape brahhhhhhhh! Working on a similar one now
Great aquascape. Do you have any concern with the actual applying and pressing frags into place. Some ares like the suspended bridge that comes downward but not supported might be touchy to press / glue / putty a frag or colony into place.

Naa not issue at all, both pieces have a tripod base construction so are very stable, and the glue bonds are stronger than the rock itself... so far iv glued dozens of frags down onto it with putty/super glue combo and its been fine
Can you please inform about the name of that glue? Thanks and compliments for the nice work!!
Great work! Can you share the photo of this with me? I'm building the rock work for my new 4ft tank. Thanks mate.
What glue are you using? Also is that moe?
Nice video what is the name of the glue
Amazing scape! How many kg of rock did you use of the shelf, foundation and base for your structure?
@ReefNerd
2 жыл бұрын
a lot less than I anticipated, about 10KG total i think
I see the thin CA glue is readily available, as is the accelerator. However, I do like your method to use sand and glue as it does not require a second coat to "pretty" it up. What type of sand are you using, does it have the accelerator in it? Thanks for the great video!
@ReefNerd
Жыл бұрын
The sand is the rock I am using... ground up with a mallet. So its perfectly seamless as its the exact same material :) I did not use any form of accelerator, wasnt necessary
great video. how many bottles of the glue did you use??
@ReefNerd
3 жыл бұрын
I went through 4 bottles
Did the cat jump off at 8:55 🤣
Looks awesome ! Could you tell me the name or where you got the glue? Thanks!

I got it from First Time Reefer (another KZreadr). He features it in some of his similar videos.
I didn't go with this negative space approach as I like boulders of rock. I actually used superglue, baking soda and then super glue activator. Process is simple, superglue, baking soda on the glue, out some more glue ..place the rock and then spray activator. It will just heat up and you can hear the sizzle and within seconds, done. So for those who don't have Marco rock powder, just use baking soda, superglue and an activator spray. Cheap, gets the job done and works
Dude where do you get this glue ?
What is the name of the glue you are using?
This glue was discover for glueing skin, so its safe touching it
Hey, not quite sure where to find this glue you used. Can you please elaborate on that?

Hit up David Mai on Facebook, he can be found in most of the Australia Reef groups like MAFA. Alternatively his youtube channel is First Time Reefer TV.
Whats the name of the glue? or chemical makeup?
Did this gold together permanently with just superglue?

Yes it did!
Was it Marco Boulder rock or marko shelf or a mix?
@ReefNerd

It was a mix. Bolder shelf and the base (flat on one side) for the feet.
can you use this method with life rock
@ReefNerd
2 жыл бұрын
nope sorry, the glue method I am using will only work with dry rock
I built my scape the same way as you, it was a lot of fun and quick, stuck my fingers together a couple of times, but your scape looks awesome, I love it well done, check mine out on Colin Garvie again on you tube, see you next time

Awesome!
Can this be achieved with any super glue or this specific glue can you provide a link or something comparable
@ReefNerd

It has to be extremely thin superglue, like water, any thick or gel style glue will not work
@loadedgullloadedgull2991

@@ReefNerdcan I use just regular household superglue as long as it’s thin enough? Or even gorilla glue? (because you can get gorilla glue in crazy big bottles).
@ReefNerd
10 ай бұрын
@@loadedgullloadedgull2991 The technique used in my video requires pure cyanoacrylate glue with a consistency close to water. You cannot use any glue with a 'gel' consistency as it will not flow into the rock properly. I could be wrong but I believe gorilla glue is not cyanoacrylate and is instead a polyurethane based glue? Check the label carefully.
If there was only a way to make this work with existing live rock

yeah options get really limited trying to glue existing live rock underwater
