I nailed this first time with a project nearly full napkin size!!! And it was my first ever decoupage project! Awesome tutorial!
Just in case someone is wondering if this works...Aafter receiving my set of coasters from you - I can endorse your application method. My Husband looked at the coasters and said 'Have these been printed on to the coaters'?! That's how good these look. No creases, bubbles or wrinkles at all. Stunning finish xx

Where do I get this kind of coaster. What are they called?
Perfection! I just completed my first decoupage project using your water technique ….No bubbles and No wrinkles! Thank you! 🎉😊❤
Thank you for the wonderful demo. I always thought decoupage was something I just didn't have the skill and patience for--to get just right, that is. This is a real eye-opener. Can't wait to try it!
I have done decopauge for over 40 years and I love your technique! You explained it very clearly and easily so even a beginner can do it. Very good video!😻

I've just started decoupage and was so pleased to find this tutorial. It's massively helpful, thank you!! xx
What a marvelous way to avoid those imperfections with napkins! Thank you so much!
Of all the different kind of decoupage work I have seen, this is the best method that I have ever seen. A perfect finish. I can't wait to experiment mine now. Thank you.
Lovely tutorial. I was hosting Christmas dinner this year and was so disappointed how my table looked with my very unchrismassy table mats and coasters, I’m definitely going to do this with festive napkins! Thank you for sharing x

Brilliant! I love that you can see through the plastic and napkin. Thank you!
Wow! This was so easy to follow! Thank you for the step by step explanation as I am just beginning with this type of crafting. Excited to begin.
Thank you so much. I’ve never seen this before so it’s a revelation for me. I really really love 💕 how that coaster turned out so stunning and gorgeous.
I like this technique. It reminds me of how window tinters apply their product to car or building windows. Gonna have to try this method 'cuz I've had some pretty bad decoupage failures in the past and I think this may guide me to success. TFS!
Beautiful, I'm loving this method.
This was wonderful!!! Thank you so very much for sharing your technique. I was ready to give up on napkin decoupage until I saw this video.

The BEST wet napkin decoupage tutorial by far! Such a soothing process, thank you ❣️
All I can say is WOW!!!!! Thank you for a great tutorial.
You can use this same process on large pieces! The trick is in working in sections. My friend and I did an armoire for her daughters wedding present from mum using this technique. We laid it down on it's back to do the front. When that was finished & dry we paid it first on one side then the other to complete the sides. The trick is to work in small sections and piece them together on the project. Like you we added a crackle finish. The end result was spectacular and produced a piece to be treasured for life. It took us 2 full weekends devoted to doing just the decoupaging but so well worth the time. The primary difference was we had to separate the sections we planned to use from the rest of the napkin. We used 3 different pattern napkins. One that was an open vine print, one that had birds and a floral set of napkins that had 4 different large flowers. I've since done a large urn using the same technique as an anniversary gift. The armoire was picked up on the roadside! We'd been searching thrift stores & yard sales for one like it. Great find! The Urn came from a thrift store for $2 us. Ebay is the source for all our napkins. Be a little careful of the really cheap sets from China. They're often so thin whole sections will just dissolve when you get them wet.

Hello Iveta! My name is Donna, and I live in Florida, in the USA. I watched this video several times before I actually fort the courage to actually try it. I have never decoupaged before, but I really wanted to try this method. I took it slow, and worked with my napkin as patiently as I could. I can’t believe that I actually did it! I got a round piece of wood from my local dollar store, and painted it black and white. I applied my napkin to the white end of the round.it looks so good! Thank you for sharing this with all of us! I can’t wait to do some fall decor!
Just came across your tutorial and I love it! Your technique is unusual but it works so well. Thanks for sharing. I must confess, more than half the enjoyment of watching was because of the image you chose.; absolutely lovely.
I personally would love to see every step start to finish of not only the napkin application, but the coaster preparation and then the crackle finish and framing. The finished compositions look great!

By a plastic folder do u mean a document protector? I’m a little confused if the plastic is the type where u can a document (napkin) in between or if the plastic u are using is just a sheet of plastic. Did u purchase it from Amazon? R u in the UK? I was wondering the exact product u r using
This would be very pretty on some thick candles!😍
Your system with applying decopage is amazing, I have done a lot of decopage in the past but now I will try your method. Thañk you so much for sharing.😄

I love your tutorial, especially the motif on the napkin. The blue tit was my favorite bird when I lived in Austria. I have not seen one since I moved to the USA (South Dakota) in 1956. I miss them!

Thank you! I put a napkin on the back of a clear plate recently and although imperfection is acceptable I would have liked not having wrinkles in the napkin. Once I put on the Modge Podge, it crackled which gave it a little more texture, but I ended up having to paint over the Modge Podge layer with white paint because the napkin itself was too translucent. Painting it made the napkin image stand out more and I'm ok with the result, but will try this method on some coasters next.
Great process and I am impressed with how it turned out. I was surprised when you added the mod podge to the wet napkin. I am planning on making coaster sets for my coworkers. Thank you for sharing your technique.

You can do this way easier by putting some diluted modge podge down the spritz the napkin or whatever you’re using with a water spray bottle, lay it down then apply MP on top gently. You won’t have all the excess water & it’s faster

Yeah but you also get wrinkles that way. And when you try to gently brush them out, risk tearing the napkin.
Thank you so much for your tutorial. You explained everything very clearly. I found it very useful and thus far the best and easiest way to decoupage. GOD Bless

All you had to do was to put the dry napkin on top over the gesso (pronounced Jesso) while it was still just a little tacky, make sure it's smooth, then when fully dry, slowly brush on matte gel medium or thinned matte ModPodge.
