Dear Adaora! You are an angel. I just renewed my US visa for summer, I had applied for a TRV that was granted for one year only and I visited in 2019. I am aware they updated the process for TRV application and in a bid to renew my visa, I wanted to know the process to reapply. I Haven’t really found anything concrete on KZread for this 2022 process because it is quite different from what I used in 2019. I contacted someone for it so that I do not make mistakes and she charged me $750, I bounced with speed. Then boom I came across your channel as I was checking frantically. This was timely. Hello Diane, Sorry to hear about his refusal. There are several factors as to why he was refused. It's best to order GCMS Notes to see the reason(s) for refusal so that you both can know what to look out for when he's applying next. Hi mam thanks for this video. I am little bit confused about a section where should I upload my previous travel history ( visas)? May I upload it on travel history section only ? Or do I have to upload it on both travel history and passport section? The spouse can write an (LOE) if they choose to but better still, the wife who is already studying in Canada can write an invitation letter stating the reason why her husband wants to visit. Invitation letter should include purpose of visit, length of stay, location, relationship ( marriage certificate attached) and also who will sponsor his visit for the duration of time he will be in canada (Proof of funds have to be attached). Her invitation letter will already detail all these information so there might be no need for the husband to write another LOE OR SOP for himself. For instance: When my parents visited canada for the 1st time for my graduation ceremony, I wrote an invitation letter for them. They didn't need to write their own LOE because mine already befits the purpose of their coming. If you are coming to study or work, it's different. A LOE or SOP will be necessary in this regard. I hope this explanation helps...

On the immigration website, you'd qualify under business visa if you are just coming for a conference. To qualify you must show that: 1. You plan to stay for less than 6 months 2. You dont plan to enter the Canadian labor market 3. Your main place of business or source of income and profits is outside of Canada Business visitors includes meetings, special events, or trainings for a few days or weeks. That being said, since you'd be coming for a conference, what you need to provide is proof of invitation that you were invited for a conference (the company/organization hosting the conference should be able to do that). Invitation letter should include your name, reason for coming, the date(s) , accomodation details and the location that this event would be taking place as well as how you'll be paying for stuff. Using that invitation letter provided to you, you'd upload it in the "Supporting Documents" section of your application and that's how you'll apply.

The IMM5256 is not a legal document. It's an instruction guide for those looking to apply for visitor visa, transit visa or super visa on paper (NOT ONLINE). Once you have read the guide, you can prepare your application package and must select the country/territory from which you will be applying to get your local visa office instructions. @@angellady6959 Visitor's visa is not the only option to come to Canada. There are several other options such as study visa, work visa, or any of the Permanent Residence Pathways if you qualify. Check the website for all the eligibility criterias

Hi, when I was applying for a Canadian visitor visa . I realized that I made a mistake by clicking "NO" and that I have never travelled outside my country. In most cases, your application will go through these general steps. In form 5645 (Family Information Form), to fill the names of family members in native language--- shall I fill all the forms in English, print it, and then write the names in native language by hand and then scan it to upload? 3. In form 5645 (Family Info Form) there is no option of validation, shall I take the printout of filled form and sign and then scan and upload it for online application. 4. If you've previously held a Canadian visitors visa before getting the study and work visa, you'll have to indicate it because regardless of your answer, they already have a history of your record and they will know if you indicate otherwise

Well my personal opinion is never to reserve/book your flight ✈ before your visa is approved. Some people argue that it motivates the visa officer to know that you have genuine intention of visiting for the duration you stated in your application. Contrary to their opinion, I've seen people who have been denied visa and now face the risk of losing their flight money.. either because the airline refused to refund entire flight fee or they've agreed to refund partial payment. That being said, the ball is in your court to decide what to do.

Hi Hossein, The best way to upload all your POF is to do it as a zip file. The way, all the pages will compressed in one document and can be uploaded as a file. I hope this helps

The only options available to visitors outside of Canada at this point is those who want to reunite with a family member(s) and those coming on a business trip. There's no option for tourists. I'd recommend to keep checking the Government or Canada website as it updates very frequently

The only way to address it is to upload the exact file size required. To further assist, there are websites online that can help you compress your files without losing any of your primary data. Just type "file compressor" on google to find out the ones available

Hi, the portal accepts credit cards and prepaid cards from Visa, Mastercard, America, American Express, JCB and Union Pay. If your debit card from GTB isn't working, u need to get a Mastercard or Visa card.

I don’t have a family member can I still apply for a tourist visa because the page on “why are you applying to Canada” does not seem to cover my situation. I usually pick none of the above and I’m not able to do the online application eventually

Hello, I don't think immigration is currently accepting tourist visa applications at the moment. Those coming as visitors are people who have family members, are coming on business trips such as conferences, etc. It will sure u all that on the list. You will have to keep checking their website regularly for updates.

Hello, Uniting with family members and visiting as a tourist visit are two different things because they will need to see proof of who you want to reunite with as they will have to write an invitation letter for you. If the tourist option is not available in the application, then you'll have to check back at a later time.

If you are not seeing tourist visa option, it simply means it is not available at this time. Kindly check the www.cic.gc.ca frequently as they seem to update the website regularly..

Thanks Adaora...This was quite informative... Unfortunately i had submitted my application earlier today and after watching your video..figured i had not uploaded any POF to my application either mine or my sponsor...(Feeling so gutted right now)..Im worried I might not be asked to provide further documents and thus my application would be affected. Went back to the site and noticed i cannot just add additional document unless im asked to upload same. Pls how many months of POF is usually required if requested for either me or my sponsor?

I got too worried over the document exception i had made during my submission of my application so i sought for further advice...and someone advised i use the webform to submit further docs and not wait for them to ask for my POF and so i did. And this morning i got a msg of "Original Passport Request" notification. Thank Jah for me🤣.... Thanks for ur advice too. Now i think i ve got the option of submitting my passport in person or via courier within 30 days.

Hi Chimere, The reason I mentioned getting a letter from your employer stating you'll be on vacation for a certain period of time is to prove to the Visa processing officer that you have plans to go back to Dubai. One of the crucial things they look out for is if the applicant has ties back home. That will convince them that you'll not coming to Canada without having any plans of going back. In your scenario, if you think your employer won't grant you a letter, you can show proofs of your income by enclosing the last 4-6 months of your bank statement where salaries were deposited. That would also prove that you're gainfully employed. If your sister is writing an invitation letter for you, she must add your occupation in the letter and state that you'll be staying with her for "XYZ" period of time and plan to go back to Dubai because of your work commitments. Keep in mind that it's not compulsory for your employer to write a leave letter for you, it's just a document that is "nice to have" in order to strengthen a positive decision on your application. That is why it's called a "Supporting Document". It's just being one step ahead of the game which might be the main straw that would convince the officer to approve your visa. I must not fail to stress that providing this documentation still doesn't guarantee your visa approval. There are several other factors put into consideration and if all things look good and convincing enough, you'll be approved. Goodluck and let me know how things turned out eventually.

really nice video... after making the application fee payment, we tried to book for an appointment but they are asking for the IRCC number and we only have the UCI number in this portal, then we called the Appointment people to book an appointment to for biometrics and they said we used a wrong portal, and that we should only book for appointment after we have gotten the biometric instruction letter and they still haven’t sent that yet, please what do we do?

U must not have a family member or a sponsor in order to visit canada. If you're capable of sponsoring yourself, why not?

But adora the reason for visitor visa doesn't show option for someone with no family members..what options can one click? I am looking to solely travel for tourism

Unfortunely, the only option available right now for visitors are for only those who have family members inside of Canada looking to reunite. There's nothing available for tourist at the moment. Once they Government of Canada reopens that option, it will be updated on CIC website.

Thanks for this. But you didn't tell us how much is the application fee. So please how much is it, is it refundable or non refundable, the your example was based on invitation from a family. What about going as a tourist. Are they chances too?

Hi, the application fee is a $100.00 CAD non-refundable. If you are visiting for a different reason such as tourism, kindly select the appropriate option while making your application.

IRCC is a secured web platform in which immigration applicants and their representatives can electronically conduct business with IRCC. Note that this portal is separate from your IRCC secure account setup using GC KEY. A GC Key is an authentication service where u can set up a username and password that allows you to communicate securely with online government services.

Hello Ma, I’m an Nysc Corper applying for a VV to reunite with a sibling. My question is, as a Corper I do not have a buoyant account, I plan on receiving a “gift deed” of let’s say 2m from my brother to my account to serve as proof of funds. Would this raise any red flag? Do you think 2m is enough funds for POF as a visitor? My brother would also be the one sponsoring my stay but I understand I need to have some personal money in my account as well. Kindly advise 🙏

Visa officers critically look out for ties in your home country such as proof of sustainability employment, etc that would compel you to go back home after you're done visiting your brother. You can include up to 6 months of your bank statement to showcase that. Once you've been able to cover that gap, then I believe you're fit to apply.

there 2 places to apply form 1) is GC key, it says 59 days left to submit and form 2) IRCC portal it says 32 days left to submit??? please please explain these, i am in trouble now.

This tells me you are doing 2 applications at the same time. Any reason why? Cic has an obligation to avoid duplication of work or unnecessary cost in the process of an application. If both are submitted at the same time, both applications will be held by Cic until processing of the initial application is complete. Hi Isoboye, Not advisable. For example, you can't apply for a visitor's visa and study visa at the same time.. Infact, that would be create confusion for a visa officer processing your file because they wouldnt know your actual intent which could potentially lead to delays in your application. It is recommended that you wait for a decision to made from your previous application (approved or denied) before proceeding to another visa application.
