Best demo on gator hide using the application pads. Also, very helpful comments. I like your process in applying gator hide and not over applying. Thanks Tracy.

Thank you for this great video! I like your technique! I have a question about fixing streaks though. Do you have to repaint or is there another way to fix the steaking?

Hello Brian! The best method that I use is to apply the gator hide 3 times waiting for it to completely dry in-between applications. Hope this answers your question for future projects. You can also check out the blog for more info on this piece! traceysfancy.com/black-bombay-chest/

Will this give the table a glossy finish? It's for my dining table what do you suggest satin gloss or gator hide.

Why does it say "UP TO" three coats? What happens if you put four coats of Gator Hide?

Interesting application demo. I've watched so many examples of how to "correctly" apply GH my mind is spinning. Wet brushes, blue sponges, over or under wax, top coats. It is so difficult and expensive to keep trying different products. Sigh ... Will the GH do a slight lifting of the color as you apply? Thank you

Hello! I've painted my dresser using DB mineral silk paint. I want to add gator hide for extra protection but also want to use gilding wax. Which should go first?

Hello! So sorry for just now seeing this....I hope you were able to finish your project. But to answer the question, I recommend Gator Hide and then gilding wax. If you do the reverse you need to give it 72 hrs to cure first. Hope that helps!!!

Tracey, can you use a Critter spray gun to apply Gator Hide to avoid brush strokes? Hmmm...

What could I do if I put too much gator hide on a table top? And put it on too fast? Can I repaint it?

  • @TraceysFancy

You sure can! As long as what you give the GH ample time to fully cure before painting over.
