How to Apply a Paste Wax FAST with an Orbital Polisher

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Paste waxes proved vehicles with some of the highest quality, longest-lasting protection you can get, but they can be more time consuming to apply.
If you are looking to get that same amazing protection in less time, you should consider applying paste waxes with an orbital polisher. You can significantly reduce the time and effort it takes to apply a thick paste wax with a polishing tool that many shops and detailers will already have access to a soft foam pad.

    Thanks for this video nice smooth delivery just like the waxing, makes a pleasant change not to have head banging music intro. I applied King of Gloss today by hand after waiting a week for the Fusso to cure (again applied by hand). Here I am a fairly intelligent man thinking I'm sure I could use the DA polisher and a Hex Logic black or red pad to spread this out but how do I get the block out of the tin and on to the pad as the tin has re entrant lip to prevent the wax block from sliding out. How stupid did I feel when I watched you simply wipe the pad into the tin? I have now seen the light - thanks!

    Great video, thanks. I did the car yesterday with my new DE polisher and it came out great! I do have a question though: what do you do with the pad afterwards? I put it in a ziploc for now (with wax still in it). Can it be left like that for the next use, or should it be washed out? (I'm assuming it can be used repeatedly). Many thanks.

  • @MalcoAutomotive

    @MalcoAutomotive

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hello, yes it can be re-used but we would recommend that it only be used as a dedicated wax pad. You can leave it like that in between uses, if you seal it in a bag that will help prevent anything from stiffining up. If the pad begans to become overloaded with wax, you can also attmept to wash it under warm water to remove some of that excess wax and keep the pad going for longer. You mainly want to watch out for any mold starting to form or if the surfcace of the pad starts to become stiff. At that point you'll want to replace the pad.

    Hello, you can use a rotary if you don't have access to orbital machines. You'll want to apply at a very slow speed and using the softest pad you have available. You'll also want to make sure you have enough wax on your pad so you're not dry buffing and inducing any swirls.

    Malco Automotive thank for your reply. Add sealant after wax is better or not ? Thank for sharing your knowledge.

  • @MalcoAutomotive

    @MalcoAutomotive

    4 жыл бұрын

    No, you wouldn't want to wax before adding the sealant, that would prevent it from bonding to the surface. If you really did want to use both a wax and coating/sealant we would recommend using the coating/sealant first and then applying the wax once that has fully cured. However, as we mentioned, that wax applied over the coating won't be very effective.

    The machine provides better adhesion than by hand. It also makes it easier to get thin uniform coverage with good adhesion. As he mentioned, you typically don't get the clumps and high spots when using a machine like you do when applying by hand. The total time of wax on and wax off is usually 25% less when applying by machine.
