    Do you have a video on how you created this in your software? I haven’t seen a video yet that explains how to setup you design for applique in the software. I would love to see a video on the basic concepts....I’m not really looking for how to digitize the actual graphic file but how you setup the basting, tack down.....etc. through the software. I hope I was clear (not confusing) in what I’m looking for. I got a lot from this video in how you setup outside the software to embroider....very clear and got some steps to help me out.....THANKS!

    Thanks for your response....but based on the recent add to this question, it still proves we would like a video process. I know your designs have it in your purchased file, but I would like to know step by step using the software demonstration to create a design layout to get it ready for the embroidery machine; for example, the first thing you need is to add a tack down first before you blah blah blah....then step two...so forth.....you’re so good explaining things, so you would be good at showing us this process.....sorry, but you are....LOL

    I would definitely shop around. Go to your local Sew and Vac and speak with them. Also, local quilt shops sell machines too. The one suggestion I can offer is to get a machine with the largest hoop size that you can afford. Inexpensive machines that you can buy online or from big box stores tend to only have small frames like 4x4. Unless you only want to make baby bibs or left chest logos, you will outgrow the 4x4 hoop really quickly. I love my new @brothersews machines. Good luck!

  • @CreativeAppliques

    This is the million dollar question LOL And so many factors go into answering this. If you are stitching for personal use and for people you know, then you can wash before stitching. If you are doing this for a business, then it is discouraged to wash before stitching for many reasons. To name a few, the item would be considered "used" if being washed first. Also, buyers being allergic to the detergent can be an issue. Hope this helps!

    I think my question is similar to the others. How do you set up the machine to do baste the outline and then redo the outline with a tack down, it's not a normal embroidery and I don't understand how the machine knows the difference????

  • @CreativeAppliques

    @CreativeAppliques

    5 жыл бұрын

    Linda the placement and the tack down are part of the design itself. All these steps are part of the design. Step 1 sews the placement. The machine will stop. Place the fabric down. Sew step 2 to tack down the fabric. The machine will stop. Then you cut the fabric. Repeat the steps for as many pieces of fabric the design uses. Then you move on to the decorative stitching.

    I have done several appliqués but have never done the heat and bond. Why do you suggest this when the entire piece is adhered with the two step tack down and satin stitch?

  • @CreativeAppliques

    most fabrics used for the applique, are cotton quilting fabrics. When sewing them onto a knit which is stretchy, the knit has stretch while the cotton fabric does not. Also when washing the item, they shrink at different percentages and directions. Using the HNBL, it essentially glues the fabric to the knit aiding in the applique material maintaining its integrity. It also helps the fabric to not fray and be pulled away from the stitching

If anyone can tell me how I can put designs back in the machine I would be so greatful.

    Yes. I have the Brother SE 625 and can do this design. The main difference between our machines and hers is that she can load all her threads on her machine and we'll have to change thread color after each section is sewn if it's a different color.
