I only see one problem with your paper Waluigi, when he turns around his letter on his hat is backwards, you should of mentioned when the hat has a letter on it it should be separate from the hat, this can be seen on Luigi's L on his hat in TTYD.......just saying

@@petesaucethecartoonist975 Oh shoot! Wait, no, I have it facing the way I wanted. But yes, the hat letters are separate layers, which causes at least one animation error in the opening sequence.

@@DannyArguetaValencia Great. :) I always feel kinda rude posting my own tutorials on reddit, but if the game is niche it's possible no one who is a regular will ever come across it otherwise. Paper Mario doesn't really count as niche though. xD

You have no idea how helpful this was because I am developing a large scale game design project in school using this style.

Seeing waluigi get some love in this video felt good :)

I adore this series! But, would it be possible to do a 'how to animate like danganronpa'? Not the normal or execution scenes but the simpler style that can be seen in certain spots, such as after Mondo's execution in the 1st game.

I think I have a tip for that :D Hmm, like I know for the blood, you need to use hot pink. I heard the game also uses pop art and a bright colorful style during the gameplay. Also it depends on which style of danganronpa you are going for. I hope this helps in some way ^w^ (tbh I am learning animation and I have no idea how certain programs work lol)

That's probably the most authentic Paper Waluigi I've ever seen. Everywhere else I've seen him he's a little off in terms of style and proportions, but this one is spot on.

Nice job! I’ve been drawing Paper Mario styled characters for years, and you essentially nailed all the key points.

Great video and I love your paper waluigi take but I think he'd still have legs due to how important they are to his regular design's silhouette. He just doesn't look quite lanky enough when legless.

It would be really cool if there was a style study for spm it's my favorite one and would be great to make characters in that style, it's so unique!

... it's sad I see this now and years ago there was a project that was canned I know of years ago because they couldn't get the animation correct or the drawing because they were swapping out all the paper mario 64 sprites and making a rom hack but again the group had issues with the sprite animations. Also I find it interesting you do this how to animate not too long after the #RemasterThousandYearDoor started popping up everywhere.

Thanks for the fantastic tutorial Crowne. I've always been a fan of the TTYD Paper Mario artstyle and have seen many a guides on designing characters, but yours goes above and beyond in the smaller details, such as the line thickness on size of character. Good stuff!

when you flip waluigi for turning animations the upsidedown L goes backwards, the short side faces to the right just bothered me but its a great vid, nothin much people probably noticed

Someone make Paper Waluigi mods! For Super Paper Waluigi Waluigi or Wario should replace Mario, for Luigi also Wario or Waluigi. Mr L would be Mr W or Mr Γ. Peach could be Bowsette. If so Bowser should be changed to Dark Bowser(probably not) or Midbus(just maybe) or a custom character. Also Waluigi's Mansion 1, 2 & 3, Super Waluigi Galaxy 1 & 2, Super Waluigi Sunshine (a good one), Super Waluigi Odyssey, etc. Also Waluigi mods for pretty much all the Zelda games. And Metroid Waluigi mods. AKA Wahtroid.

I remember a style I particularly enjoyed a lot and in fact love to bits! But, have been having difficulty recreating and or finding someone who could do similar. It's from an indie game that's rather.. out there called: "The Miskatonic" Lovecraftian, dark humor Visual novel type thing! I very much doubt you'll see this and- even if you do, It'll probably just be skipped over. Even so, thank you for humoring me with reading this far! And to those interested, check it out! I used to make a fan made Paper Mario series called "The Untold Stories of Paper Mario" a decade ago on KZread. Using, Windows Movie Maker and Paint. If this tutorial existed around that time, things would've been a whole lot different with that series, as well as the way I animate.

Could you do a how to animate like Camp Camp? I love these videos. It's really interesting to watch all the pieces come together and then finally see the finished product! I've been in love with Camp Camp for almost a year now and no matter how hard I've tried, I could never get the style or animation right.
