this is one of the most honest videos about this hobby out there. Also those Buy or Pass videos are "dangerous" to watch, they can get you into the wrong mindset for collecting these things. Literally every single one is "this is a 1000% buy, it will go up in value". So are they collecting based on value or sentiment? Get your priorities straight when collecting. Great video K.

This is an excellent and helpful video. I like that advice of just sticking to your personal favorite characters and figures. It can be a rabbit hole to go down. The budget goal and sticking to characters that I like are the ways that I broach this collecting hobby. I still just order from SS as I have practiced patience and I like their customer service. I was eyeing those figures on Sideshow since 2017 and always postponing to buy cause I though they are expensive and not really worth it. But I took a chance on November 2020 by buying WW Justice League and I couldn't believe eyes how good they were.

@@chrato74 glad you got them. Nice thing about them is they dont loose value. So if for some reason you have to sell them or even if you get bored and want to get new ones you can sell them and make your money back. But I was the same way.

Thanks for watching! Here is what I'd ask: What do I like more, Star Wars, Marvel, or DC? Then I would find a figure that you like and connect with that is IN STOCK and ready to ship. That way you can see if this is something you really want pursue. Don't pre order something that is years away and lose the hype.

Imma try using sideshow i dont mind waiting 3 months, beacsue i love the surprise youll get, like once you order it and wait a month or 2 youll forget you ordered it and when it finally gets on your door step and you open the box youll see your figure and remeber and it will be a suprise

good advice! i love collecting my Star Wars hot toys! sideshow is where i get them from but the customs fees are expensive to the uk. There are sellers in the uk but are very expensive to buy from, so i might as well buy them from sideshow. I have bought a few on eBay at a good price and never really had a problem with them. And yes i have gone down that rabbit hole! i have about 30 Star Wars hot toys now with 7 more currently on a payment plan with sideshow 🤔🤣 😁👽👍

You can grab the Mandalorian still from sideshow on pre order and it should ship soon. Scarlet witch is still over a year a way. You got time to either 1. Pre order 2. Put it on a payment plan, 3. Wait to see in hand photos of the final product to see if you still want it __ then get your order in

Recently paid the full amount for my Captain Rex pre-order . He is my first Hot Toys figure, still waiting to pay tax and delivery. Can't wait for the figure to be in my hands, I'm guessing that I will get it right when it releases because I ordered it in late june and the release on sideshow is september-october.

I think it's a gorgeous figure on first review. We will see when the final product shows up -- pre order if you want, but I am confident that there will be PLENTY of him to go around when it eventually releases

If the item is "in stock" it'll ship to you within the week if you are stateside. If it is released in Hong Kong, you will need to wait for the shipments to get to sideshow before they will ship to you. However, NOW they are getting to sideshow much quicker.

It is but they have become very expensive too. I'm in Australia and most of us get our figures from a guy William Wang. He has ties to factories in China. And he gets it before most shops at a very competitive price.
