@@your_dads-dads_dad6841 Hitler was the most destructive person of the last 500 years. Cancelling the word 'hail' isn't productive nor is bringing hitler up unnecessarily in this comment section. Have a great night.
There was a guy I used to train with (back in my TKD days) who had a unique counter - he would do a _jumping spinning back kick._ He was spastic in some way (I didn't ask) and somehow due to the nature of his disability* was able to jump and spin faster than most people could do a regular roundhouse kick and could even use it to counter punch. *He couldn't do punchs that well, or roundhouses either. But my ribs became very well acquainted with the heel of his foot. The first time we spared, I thought "he's roughly the same belt as me, a full head shorter and disabled, I'll go easy on him" while those who knew watched with amusement and waited. I did a low roundhouse that turned into a air swing as he jumped, and he caught me in the ribs, just _barely_ missing my liver.

Man i was getting my lead leg chewed up last night in sparring and sort of came to the conclusion that its best to pull back, but your counter straight-down-the-middle is exactly what i was missing. Thanks for the top content!
I'v been sparring a lot with my coach whos an amateur MMA fighter and i still get my ass beat every time, I film the sparring sessions to see what I can do better and I realized when i throw kicks he's willing to eat them to land a cross. But now with these tips in mind, whenever he throws low leg kicks I can counter him and better yet, set up fake kicks to expose the cross and counter from there. Thanks Jeff! Keep up the great work, always appreciate your content.

Those are some nice counters. Kickers have to drop guard in order to deliver power with the kick otherwise they simply cannot kick. You definitely have to eat a few kicks and time the counter correctly or you'll get eaten up by kicks lol. Another thing is, you'll have much better success if you counter to the body when the kicker drops guard. Essentially, when a kicker throws a kick, they drop guard and become a south paw fighter. A south paw fighter in boxing are very weak against an orthodox fighter who because the SP fighter has their right hand forward, which means the left side of their body is open to the right hand of the orthodox fighter. And once you land a few punches into the body, a kicker can no longer generate power in their legs as body punches will cause their legs to lock up. I'd say timing and counter punch placement(body) is how you deal with kickers.
Thanks, greetings from Belgium

@ziggy6060
2 жыл бұрын
@@ireneeimbert71Square your hips and step in with your rear foot to open up your hips before throwing it. But generally you can't get much torque out of an inside low kick if your opponent is in the same stance. I use it more to off-balance my opponent and disrupt their rhythm to set up other strikes rather than damaging their leg. A really good technique I use is to turn it into a sweep by essentially kicking at their ankle, this will almost always make them stumble forward if they're not ready for it making it perfect to set up a rear uppercut and follow up with a lead hook.

In my Myay Thai days I used to set up the low kick with a push or a punch. As I executed the kick, I would extend the glove to cover the opponent's eyes and control distance. Result: 1. I would increase the rate the kicks landed. 2. I would never get countered with a punch. 3. However, I lost a little power.
