Great video!! Very informational and helpful even in the civilian world. Documents mean everything and proof of all those accomplishments are key. Keep up the great work!

Having an "I love me" book is a great personal investment. I have everything from my first enlistment contract to my second DD-214! I even have barracks clearing records! 🤣 But make sure you love yourself enough to look into life after the military. Go to your Tricare Patient Portal and scrub through your medical records to make sure it's all there. Print out a copy and keep them safe as well. This will pay divends later on when you try to establish your VA benefits! We all start off pretty healthy and think "I won't need it later", until you do.

Nice. I got selected for an advanced course before going to my duty station so I have a bit more time, I'll definitely keep this in mind

I started a very similar binder back when I was in highschool as a means of keeping my FEMA Emergency Management Certifications organized. It's now got a copy of my Honor Society induction letter and certificate, various certificates of appreciation I've received, my Tech Center Certificate of Completion, my Firefighter Essentials certificate, and my Pro Board Accredited Firefighter 1 and Hazmat Operations certifications. Even if you aren't in the military, having such a binder to hand to someone if they question your qualifications will eventually pay off for you.

It's like with everything else: you want to keep a paper copy of all documents, awards, and etc., just in case they get lost in the (computer) system. And keep them in one folder or container. Simeon, I know you have a large family, and that you are close to them. Does being close with one's family make boot camp and school and so on easier to get through?

I feel like it makes it harder since you are away from them. Just try to call them a lot and keep in contact.

Good Afternoon Corporal, My name is Lance Corporal Cawley. I was wondering if you would be willing to either show or demonstrate how to get an Iron Man on the PFT and CFT respectively. I have 1st Classes in both; however, most other Marines in my Squadron have both. I only know of one Sergeant who has an Iron Man record. Would you be willing to share some tips and pointers on this topic. Thank you, your Marine LCPL Cawley Semper Fidélis!
