Love that you guys make these kind of informative videos, thank you!!
if the measurement is standard, why isn’t it set from the factory?

Agree.
It's not clear from the video, am I supposed to set the length based on my lift height, then install it on the truck? It would help to have the rest of the install in the video, like when you put it on the truck. EDIT: i just read the directions that come with the track bar, all makes sense now.
What size crescent is needed for the Thruen bar? I found some contact on the driver side coil bucket when going 39 1/8th. Will need to shorten it by at least 1/2" to clear the bucket.
As info, the crows foot is supposed to be at the 90 degree position if you are solely using the torque setting of the torque wrench. When you do it straight on at the 180 degree position, there is some sort of calculation that is needed to set the torque correctly.
Can this be used with a relocation bracket? My factory bracket snapped and I have a ReadyLift Relocation bracket on the vehicle at the moment with the stock track bar.

Anyone know if this can be tightened while on the truck? Mine is loose I rather not pull it off if possible. My truck is an 04.5 so slightly different. The issue not many tools fit there I already tried, a crow foot might but not sure. I don't have one that big gotta buy one
What size crow foot for the Thuren bar?
I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with a 3" lift . Will I still use the 39 1/8" measurement? With the Carli Track Bar. Thanks for all Your help...👍

Yep! 39 1/8th!
For a wj with 4.5 lift what will be the length of the track bar
I just put a 4” super-lift on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler jk how far off would the measurement be?
The Carli instructions say to adjust the track bar to 39-1/8" for 2.5"-3" Carli lifts. I ordered the 3.25" Backcountry for my 2018 Ram 2500. Is that 39-1/8" still a good measurement for me? Thanks in advance.

Follow exactly what Carli recommends for your make, model and year!
Your crows foot should have been at a 90 degree angle for proper torque. By having it in line with the torque wrench you effectively lengthened the wrench and most like applied too much torque.

true, but in this case there isn't a set spec, just 200+ for a joint that can handle 500
You guys mention using the hitch to tighten the jam nut but with my 2015 ram 2500 the track bar does not fit in the receiver, am i missing something? Any other ways to tighten the jam nut if you don’t have access to a vice?
Thanks. I'm sure the torque value on the jam nut is in the kit but just curious, what was it?

Good question. You’ll set it at 39” of you’re using a Carli track bar 👍
Hello. ok I have 2013 ram 2500, with 35 inch tires and with 2.5 in leveling kit. Does the 39 1/8 measurement work for this ?

Did you find this out? My three inch lift is burning bushings on the lower control arm. A carli dealer said the trac bar may be out of line. How do you know if it’s correct once on the truck.
what is the measurements for a leveled front end which is usually 2 inches

If you have added a 2" coil level kit, is the measurement still going to be 39 1/8" center to center?
@CJCOffRoad
5 жыл бұрын
It will be close! You can always try shedding an 1/8 off. However, keep in mind some 2010+ trucks can be fickle and really need that 39 1/8 as a minimum.

a video of how to center your axle under your truck properly would be a lot more useful. i don’t see any videos on that. just pre set numbers and go with it.
Red thread lock ?? Hell they seize themselves lol . Locktite on jam , anti seize on heir threads
Could you do one of these for PMF and Superduty trucks?

1500?
Where'd you get the crowsfoot?
I am not clear on this but, if you do a lift kit and from what I have seen, it moves the front axle towards the divers side. Isn't this what the track bar corrects? If this is the case wouldn't the measurement be different than the 39 1/8"?
@CJCOffRoad
5 жыл бұрын
You are correct in reference to the axle position changing. In regards to the measurement, 39 1/8 is the sweet spot for 2.5-3" kits on the Ram 2500/3500 trucks.

Any specific reason why no one makes a cast iron adjustable track bar for a 2012 Ram 2500? It would be stronger than anything out there and may eliminate wobble from my truck and plenty others and a cast iron drag link and tie rod while your at it with replaceable tie rod ends. That is the only suspect I think on my truck now from trying to solve it for years , extremely frustrating. YOU listening ?

Mitchel Sandel that’s what’s on my truck. it’s just a fact that a cast iron one has less flex and not sure why there isn’t one for our 2012 rams. Hence the question

Is that adjustment the same for a 6" lift ???
@CJCOffRoad
Жыл бұрын
The process is the same, but the measurement is different for a 6" lift as Carli uses the stock length with a drop for that height.

If you spend 70-100k on a truck, 4-14k on suspension,3-6k on wheels and tires spend the money on a professional install for example CJC off-road.
If you ever have to readjust it, you better have a good torch..
Very nice job of explaining, thanks. Watched bds video first I highly suggest do not waste your time.

If you have a stock truck why doesn't Carli offer the bar already tightened down and sized properly, sounds like they are leaving the most important critical step in the hands of people who don't have the proper tools or a critical jig to make sure your getting the length and alignment Dead on. This method seems to throw the liability on the end-user.
@CJCOffRoad

This bar is designed to go in trucks with a range of suspension heights, so pre-setting it would hinder installation. If the end user doesn't have the skills or tools to set a track bar, it's best to take it to a qualified shop that can.

No jig required. I’ve done it in a driveway with a tape measure, a pipe wrench, and a a 10” crescent wrench. There are various things on the truck that will hold the track bar for you while you tighten the jam nut.
