    Nice vid Chris! Appreciate the good lighting and quality camera angles. I lowered my C5 and C7 on stock bolts and it made a huge difference in the appearance. Fortunately, I have no issues clearing my driveway, but I almost ripped the splitter off of my C7 last month in a parking lot. I was sweating...😂

    Good and informative. That looks like one of the easier things to do on a Vette. Hint...lay a standard screwdriver against the threads, it helps to count them easier as you drag over them. Going to bid on a C5 today at auction, and you are in part the inspiration. Thanks!

    Proper way to measure vehicle height on any vehicle is from the frame not the body as there is too much variances in the body. Check your service manuals for proper procedure.

    "Close?" Close only counts in horseshoes. 😉 What I've done after adjusting the suspension is to go find a parking lot and doe figure eights, like six in one direction and then six in the other direction. It does help, but ultimately it's driving it and for me it took almost 100 miles for the car to adjust to a final height. Maybe check the ZO6 again after some more mile have been on it to be sure. Save the Wave.🙋‍♂️

  • @cassiespencer6134
    @cassiespencer61344 жыл бұрын

    You should consider corner weighing the car. That way you'll likely find that each corner will require a different ride height. Only then will you know how much it weighs as well as the weight on each tire. If you have uneven weights on the tires they'll each have a different amount of grip which can lead to the car cornering faster in one direction than the other. Front to rear weight distribution is also important because it allows traction to be increased on the driven wheels by increasing the front or rear weight depending on which wheels transfer the most power to the ground. Ideally this should be done with the driver in the drivers seat.

  • @kallo182

    @kallo182

    In Theorie you are right. But ... not much Cars on Earth are so good Ballanced like a Corvette. Even the Fuel Tank is build that way, to give the Car the perfect Weight Ballance. Things like you say are maybe important on a Honda Civic, or Mercedes S Class. But a Corvette is already Ballanced as good as its possible. And the yellow Corvette was 0,5 Inch lower on the left side, even the Driver was not on the Seat. When the Driver join the Seat, it will be even more.

  • @cassiespencer6134

    @cassiespencer6134

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@kallo182 I beg to differ. I have a C7 ZR1 ZTK and have a lot of experience with Corvettes as well as racing, although not in Corvettes, although I've had them on a track many times. And I can say with certainty they can in fact benefit from corner weighing and balancing. In fact the ability to adjust corner weights is built into them, for a reason. For example, every driver differs in weight. Different tires can also make a difference as well. Fuel load (not total capacity) is another variable. For example, starting with half a tank is a substantial weight difference and if the car is corner weighed and balanced for that fuel weight it does make a difference. Is corner weighing and balancing something one needs for street use? No. However, if one has an interest in track days for example it's quite beneficial to do so, especially if the car is on race rubber (track only tires) for example.
