Thanks very helpful.....question I got the same machine...now it only sew for 2 to 3 second and then stop...hiting START will sew again for 3 second and stop....any help will be nice

I was told by somrone that the bobbin carrier has a tension screw as well. It is very small on the side of the bobbin carrier, when it is adjusted it either tightens or loosens the speed at which the bobbin can feed the string. Also there are two screws that hold down that bracket one closest to the Bobbin Cartridge is to hold in place the cartridge and the other is to adjust the height as you demonstrated. So both of those screws need to be secured all the way down correct?

Hello I have a singer quantum stylist 9960 it will not sew decorative stitches or button holes it will only sew straight stitch and zigzag I wondering is it the feed dogs out of adjustment is there a video or pdf could show how to adjust this it's a new machine I just bought it last week please

I am trying to remove the screws holding the cover over the bobbin case. Help! I did manage to remove the right screw but I can’t seem to get a screw driver to fit on the other screw! Not enough to space. I thought maybe a tool would come with the machine. I haven’t found one.

U should've gotten 2 different screw drivers with the machine, however if u didn't or they are lost, I find that a regular old Swiss army knife with screwdriver attachments works great. I use the one titled "explorer" I find almost all the tools to be useful in my sewing room. The screwdriver part can be used completely extended and acts like a completely normal screwdriver or I like to fold it at 90 degrees to give me more turning leverage on tough screws.

I just purchased the machine. When I start to free motion the thread breaks after about 30 seconds. The straight stitches are working fine. The tread just breaks and machine jams. Any ideas?

My top thread is doing the same thing. I cleaned the bobbin case area, I have changed the needle. The top thread keeps 'shredding', prior to the needle, it seems the thread gets too tight in the tension area...I have threaded it according to the manual, according to the arrows on top. not sure what is going on, but could truly use some help here! Thank you!!!

Make sure that you thread the machine while the foot is in the up. If it’s down while threading the machine, what you are describing will happen

Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 does not cut off the upper thread. The hook cling, but does not hold out the upper thread to the knife. What could be the problem? I can to send a photo on email.

Is there anyway to fix the fly wheel if it gets stuck and wont move on the Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 model?

Yes, but it's complicated. It will need a mechanic and some technical finesse.

I am so thankful for your videos! While watching one I noticed what I had done completely wrong. I had help cleaning the bobbin area and I had my friend tighten the plate that has that tiny spring for the bobbin catch on way to tight. That plate was so tight it kept the entire bobbin from being able to move. Metal on metal part of the plate and bobbin outside area. I had them loosen that plate and it worked like new. Thank you again for your wonderful videos!!!

Can you please tell me how to replace the cutting blade? Mine fell out?

I was using the bead attachment on my 9960 the needle bent from hitting one of the beads. Now my machine is making a rubbing sound in the area of the bobbin case. When I remove the bobbin holding case the noise stops. Any ideas????? Thank you
