I have a few questions for you about this if you have the time can you use that second camera wire to install the camera on the bumper instead of the tailgate so if tailgate is down, you still have a view? How much is the modular itself to add the wireless CarPlay.

I guess you could install the camera in your bumper instead of replacing the one in the tailgate. I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to. You should be able to place the camera wherever you want it as long as the cable reaches that location. The product is linked in the video description.

Why did you install an HD backup camera wire? Is that necessary if I’m just replacing the module?

In the video (around the 3:47 mark) I explain that if you already have an HD backup camera, you can keep using your own wire and that I ended up being able to just use the wire that I had in the truck because my truck had the HD wire and camera to begin with. If your truck does NOT have an HD backup camera, you do have to replace the camera wire and camera itself in order for the backup camera to work with the new module. If your truck DOES already have the HD version of the backup camera, you can use the same camera wire, you just have to replace the module and camera itself.

I have the nonwireless carplay in my truck, but use the carplay dongle to make it wireless but I've noticed when using the maps there is a slight delay (maybe 1-2 seconds) between your actual location and what's being displayed on the screen. Same goes if you are watching a video on your phone, the audio doesn't match what's being shown on your phone. Will this unit you installed resolve that issue?

I have not noticed any type of delay in maps, but there will most likely always be a delay when listening to the audio in a video you are watching. It’s just the nature of sending that data wirelessly to the vehicle. Unless they can develop a wireless connection with zero latency (not sure that’s even physically possible), some type of audio/video delay will always be there.

It was a great video and educating. Thank you. But I pass it. $1000 is too much for eliminating couple of bucks wire. Mine is LTZ and has everything except wireless Android Auto.

@jessicamclane3750 USB cables. I really don't care about wireless Android Auto. With cable, it works just fine.
