Chloe, You are very inspiring. I have a couple of suggestions. Investing in a heavy duty crimper and a separate hd wire cutter will make your life a lot easier especially once you upgrade the power wires. Using heat shrink tubing on your lower wirings is a great idea but I would also use the heat shrink tubing on all of my connections. I guess that is just my OCD. Please keep producing excellent videos like this one.

Great timing Chloe!!! I just ordered a no cut panel from Guild Outfitters to fit a Auxbeam 8 gang switch which fits seamlessly for that OEM finish!!! I also ordered the waterproof box to mount the fuse bus under the hood for the lovely OEM look. Keep those videos coming. I love what you are doing!!!

Fantastic video Chloe. I invested in a ratchet style crimp tool. This gave me a lot more confidence in my crimps. I also found that putting a small smear of silicone grease on the copper before crimping helps with keeping moisture out of the join.

Very nice! Guild Outfitters is awesome. I bought a similar switch panel from Cali Raised Off-Road, but that one required a tiny bit of cutting behind the switch panel.

Should test out solder seal wire connectors by Sopoby. Heat shrink just like your blue connectors but has solder in the middle that melts when you heat it with a heat gun. Pretty awesome for automotive applications. Great content!

The one thing that is always missing in these install videos is how your run the red lead wire into the actual stock fuse box when jumping a fuse to a wiring harness.

Hey Chloe! We have the same color 3rd gen and I was wondering if you've ever noticed the scratches under the door handles? Like I have no nails and open the door properly without scraping my nails on the paint but just from regular use the paint shows scratches under the handles, a lot more where my passengers get in. None of my other cars do though. Have you figured out a way to fix this?

  • @JediGokuLee

To assist with a possible suggestion as I know what you are speaking about, get some mild, rubbing compound and with a soft, microfiber towel, put a little bit on and rub back-and-forth until the scratches disappear. After this is done (and cleaning well with alcohol prep solution), they actually sell (under) automotive door handle protectors (film like the screen protect that Chloe has on her radio/speedometer cluster. Especially on auto colors that show the fine scratches, this process definitely makes an improvement in appearance.

NOOOOOOO! Chloe, why did you ignore the switch backlighting step? That's the same shortcut that the rest of yootoob takes, too. It would have been great to have at least one reputable yootoober show how to identify and connect to the dash lights so that this switch would work the same as the rest of the OEM switches on the dash.

I like that relay box mounting method. Unfortunately us manual transmission folks can’t move stuff around because the clutch reservoir on Pros/Off-Roads and the master cylinder hose and line to the firewall are totally in the way. 🥲 I do like the factory appearance switch panel look. I did one of the ones from Etsy that is a very tight fit. Not a problem for me though, I drop the steering column panel if I want to work on it (5 minute process). But I prewired all the switches and ran their wiring to the firewall so I shouldn’t need to touch the switches again unless I change a function. I would have bought from guild but I needed a better configuration than they offered. Overall nice job.
