I have been designing first stages of baggy jackets and other clothes wear with idea of adding lights too. I knew it was possible but I just didn't know where to look and how it can be down. Glad I found this video. I see in other replies to comments that you can customize too, so I am going to find out more from your company cause this is a game changer for me for my clothes wear designs.

What kind of patch must be used for the light to shine through?

This looks like a very awesome product! And I just ordered 4 strips. I am interested in sewing them all on one costume in different locations. Would I have to modify the powerpack to allow for all four strips to plug into it if the wires were not all end to end, and coming from all different directions to meet in the middle? Are there extension wires I can get from the powerback to the lights or do I need to make them? And if I cut the light can I attach two or more to the same lead line and then directly to to powerpack? Can u send me the directions to crimp and solder another connecting line? Or is it the same as the tape method? Thank you so much!

Awesome! Yes, we do have exactly what you need to make the connect in parallel from the battery pack. If you check out our "EL Accessories" page, you'll find 4/1 splitters, extension cords, etc. to help make the installation a cinch! You can find a link in the video description for all the off-the-shelf items we have. You might try the 1cm x 1m strip (which potentially could be cut in this scenario).

I am really intrested into this product, but i have a simple question, are the lights able to be customized in any way for example: to only light a part of it

Great question. We can customize nearly any shape, size, or color of the product. So yes, it could be custom made in various logos, shapes, etc.

Very interesting, especially if there is a possibility for test runs (small batch logo test to see if full scale production would work). On the website it looks like you only do customisations if there are huge orders?

I have one question. Can it Shine in different colors like purple, UV purple or Dark purple ?

Technically it can shine in purple, but purple is going to be one of the dimmer colors. UV is not possible with VynEL.

If I were to cut it (to make a 90 degree turn on the same surface plane) would I be able to use the crimp connectors that you sell? In the same way one would use it on the other versions of EL tape that you sell?

Yes. We would recommend the VynEL Splash product. It is our most waterproof solution. Make sure to NOT cut the product for longest lasting results. We can also custom make panels to if your project requires special shapes.

Can you put the clothes in the washer with the VynEl attached?

@@EllumiglowPage What does it cost by the foot? I used EL wires on my kid's Halloween costumes and the pain was spending hours hand sewing and not being able to wash the clothes afterwards.

@@kcarew2 We sell it in a number of different preset shapes and sizes. You can view the available shapes on our website at ellumiglow . com. You will see a category for VynEL and take a peek at what you would need. Keep in mind the battery packs would need to be removed before throwing in the wash.

can you cut it and have it still. work ?

Technically yes. It will continue to glow to the point where you cut it. We recommend sealing the cut edges with glue or tape to ensure no moisture or debris can get inside. The waterproofing will decrease once cut from the factory seal, so if you plan to make custom shapes in a production part, we highly recommend having us custom make a panel to shape. It can be made in virtually any shape, size or color.

These are made similar to screen printing a t-shirt, and the largest panel we can make based on our tooling is about 1x2m. However in most cases like for wearables, you'll be better off making smaller pieces which we can die cut and print logos, patterns, etc.

can you wash the clothing once sewed on?

Yes, you can machine wash, or dry clean once applied. Heat bonding is a preferred method of attaching which keeps better waterproofing of the material.
