Drawing Tutorial: Unlock Depth and Layers

Custom Apple device wallpapers! bitbrand.com/collections/stra...
Hi everyone. In this lesson, I give you a raw walkthrough on how I create my drawings and how I handle different approaches with depth and believability.
Drawing is a skill that most people wish they could do but they immediately put themselves in the category of "Oh, I could never do that." I want to take this time and welcome you to my channel: Draw Sessions.
I've been drawing all my life and have had the privilege of working both for AAA game studios and also movies. I have taught foundation drawing at the University of Cincinnati and it's time now to give back. I understand the frustrations of learning art in general but specifically, drawing. My channel is dedicated in helping absolute beginners, intermediate artists, and industry veterans - all wanting to improve their drawing skills. Please like, subscribe, hit the notification bell and comment below if you're finding this channel helpful in your journey of becoming an artist.

Great lesson! The process you show is so clear, I used too many tools now I learned to control my 4B to get quite realistic drawings. Everything you show is relatively easy to reproduce. Thanks for great book! 120+ pages of pure enjoyment.

I needed to hear some of the "life lessons" as I'm going through some hard bits of wanting to get out of work, and pursue art. But skills are gravely lacking. The "stop trying for perfection, and just do the work and the techniques and everything will come"

This was very cool. Thank you! I'm older (53) and doing this kind of art really interests me. And I appreciate how you are explaining in real time, because I would come across the same decisions. It's helpful to see how you solved them.

I've got "Anatomy for the Artist" and it's great. But I wonder, is there an animal anatomy book that you could suggest. Quaddroped musculature? I've dissected many animals when hunting to eat as a youth (you do what you have to to survive.) so I've studied the anatomy first hand, but I don't remember half of it.

Love this video, but I think you should try to shade within the bounds, because shading in the bounds is also a skill, and good common practice. When I started shading it was meh, but I noticed that when I shade, I do it inside the bounds, and I don't realise I am doing it; I think you got used to shading outside the lines. Bit of criticism from me.

Hi! Great work and thank you for sharing your insights. I’m having trouble telling if the paper is toned because of the lighting. Is sort of a warm color darker than white?
