How to add an outlet. Easy tasks aren’t always easy, hopefully this helps 🙏

Ойын-сауық

We missed this outlet in the rough in. Very lucky to have that range cabinet there.
I am a master electrician with 20+ years experience. Hopefully this will help someone. No 2 projects are the same but this will provide context to adding a receptacle when drywall is finished. Always be mindful of where studs are in this process, otherwise you will have to cut out finished drywall. Or worse, tile! If the original outlet had a stud on the right side(wrong side), I would have removed the box and drilled through at the top or bottom of the hole so a box could still be place back in the original hole. Hope this helps. #electrician #apprentice #diy #howto #construction #ocd #outlet #receptacle #add #new

The best way to get the length for a wire in an old workbox. Put your lymans in the box and cut at the end of the handle. That leaves you exactly 8 inches.

Hey Joe can you do troubleshoot videos? I think they would be interesting and helpful for people who might not have as much experience with them

I take it the house is built on a slab and there is no basement, so you can bring The Wire down and back up.

Lmfao cuts a channel instead of where the studs are. I like your style. Fuck the drywallers. I never pigtail on two wires, only three. Why do you do that

  • @richt5986

It's better to pigtail because of anything happens to the device. You can lose power down the line..... in theory,..... I've done jobs and buildings.Where the engineer actually specified, they pigtails. They did not want you to splice through devices
