I was thinking the same.🤔 But i think if tissue paper layer on bottom of zipper and top of knitted edge,that just might work. You're always so clear with your explaining things to us Thank you 😊

If it’s a medium weight yarn or smaller you should be able to for the straight sewing but I’d stop short and hand sew the ends. You could always test it on a swatch first though.
Why sew by hand? Sewing machine could save you some time!

Because many knitters don’t have machine or like to work only by hand. There are many reasons out there and ways to do things. This is just one. ❤️
