This doesn't work for the current Word; not sure if I have 201 or 2016. I think 2016. But, if you chose the one on the left, even if your curser is on the right, it inserts the page number on the left and removes what you typed on the left. If you chose the right side, it will put it on the right side, but it still deletes what you typed on the left. Word updates are not good; what were they thinking!

It seemed to me at the time that the reason for why the page numbers, headers and footers kept disappearing was because of the discussion about how exams and assignments impact public health and how it ties in to the 13th Amendment.

What I do not understand is why you need a work around to add a header and a page number. I do not understand the level of incompetance in the design of this piece of crap that makes a header and page number to be mutually exclusive.
