Have I got a good one for you today. This is one of the bigger single episode cleanups I've done lately. So this customer came through to the call centre and I went around to do a quote. The tenants were a young family, and expecting their first baby. When I saw the place, I knew it needed a lot of work to get it back into shape and decided to do it all for free to help them out. All up, I spent around 17 hours on this job, with 6 trips to the landfill and 1 trip to the metal scrappers. Enjoy!

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?

Q: How much do the jobs cost?

A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee!
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working. All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved.
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

I watched a lot of free lawn cutting makeovers, but this is the first time I have seen someone truly organized and remove bulk trash from the yard. This is my favorite clean up so far! Kudos!

What a STUNNING transformation, since I started watching your channel I find it difficult to keep watching some of the other channels due to your way of cleaning as you work, bit by bit, I love that and also how neat you work and your high standards. The fact that you fix broken gates and steps and and also taking the rubbish and old and broken furniture to the tips is amazing. You are most definitely an all rounder, keep it up. Only garden channel that does not give me anxiety due to your neat way of working. You always clean the plant pots and neatly arranged the patios of your customers, love that as well. I wish there were a garden designer that would come in after your MASSIVE cleanup and add appropriate and beautiful plants, add a new patio or deck and pergola, etc. Whatever. That would be SO FUN.

I used to have a big yard with lots of trees, and I always made the mistake of doing one task at a time, like all pruning or all weeding. Then I would be too tired to clean up! Think George does it a section at a time is mainly because of the camera and it saves taking more equipment around. That is my thoughts anyway.😊

@@jeanwoodhouse8899 True. But I do the same thing. Ill cut all the trees, and have so much branches and cleanup, I never get to it and its even harder to clean up. Working a section at a time may make it easier and not feel like such a monumental task.

What a change George! Another great job as always! You gave this expecting couple a sigh of relief at the right time. This property requires a lot of expensive lawn equipment (to rent or buy) and weekly maintenance. It’s hard for a husband, who works 50-60 hours driving on the road, to dedicate the time required. A lot of hard work and money towards this job. Kudos!

Lol, you inspired me George! I stopped this video at the half way mark to cut off a big Agave that was lying down, it has 2 'babies' so that's fine. Then I trimmed a very old Grevillea and a Money Tree! Now I'm back to watch this amazing transformation! Great work again!

The first few videos I watched him prune and thought it was too much. The before and after videos showed George had done the right amount of pruning.
It's always good to watch George's transformations. They are not the same every time. The planning, decisions, are different in every video. That's what makes you different George. Plus the background scenery ads ambiance to the video. You are a true master at your craft. A big 2 thumbs up as always.

Incredible cleanup, George! That yard was a total overgrown jungle before you tamed it. You gave that young couple and their soon to be baby a nice safe place to live with very little yard maintenance to worry about. Clearly they have no time to spend on it, so it is best to not have a bunch of shrubs that will require pruning and upkeep. Wonderful job and nice editing, George! You’re the best! ❤️🇨🇦

I thought it was a great transformation, but was surprised at getting rid of the trees. They made it green and lovely. Seemed strange to expose the ugly fence and industrial area next door by cutting down all the tree branches… Surely it would have been better to keep the shade and trees?

My Dad also worked 60 to 70 hours a week, still found time to keep the house maintained and the yards tidy, you didn’t see yards like this back in the 70’s, people had more pride

Did they actually want that much cut in the backyard? That lot is clearly in a very busy area on 2 sides. There used to be some privacy in the backyard and now there isn't. Sure, trim up and clean under those trees but save some privacy and shade. Sorry but I think this clean up went way past appropriate. (Before anyone jumps on me for my OPINION, realize George gets exactly what he wants from me - minutes viewed, a thumbs up, and a comment feed the algorithm.)

Yes, I think you can tell they wanted some privacy because they raised the fence along the side, not to mention the view over the back fence now is just ugly. Went a bit over the top on this one George 😟

the fences are high enough that they are not overlooked. It's only busy at the front and those scrappy couple of hedges didnt provide any bunding anyway, it could do with a full length evergreen hedge to block out that busy road and the same again in the garden along that wall where you Dan see warehouse type buildings next door.

I think he reduced the value of home by $50K. Much uglier back yard now. One thing he should’ve cut down is that effin clothes line stand! You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.
Doing yardwork will not increase your house value let alone by $50,000. This is pretty crazy to think that. Go tell someone you’re going to offer less money for their house because the yards a little messy now if it was actual landscaping then yes it could add value but even landscaping can’t add $50,000 of value unless it’s a mansion, I swear KZread…
I like it, George. Gives someone with the time and inclination to take care of it an opportunity to start over.
As always your complete redo’s are amazing. I like it when you do the entire transformation solo. I saw a compilation of your regular work where your helper does all the mowing and you do the edging and other miscellaneous. Those were fun to watch as well. Really gives us an idea of how many properties you guys do on a regular basis. Great commendable yard work. It’s not just lawns. 👍🏼
Quite a transformation and massive job, George! Six trips to the tip?! How nice for it to be done before the baby comes. Thanks to your good, and thorough, work they won't be worrying over the yard while caring for a newborn. And now the child can safely be taken into the backyard as it grows. Hope someday they will have the 2 trees on the left cut down - about all they contributed was falling leaves. And the big tree's base didn't look too healthy either.
