Okay so i have a really specific one how to not break pencils when drawing. It could just be the pencils i use or the way i pear them but they keep breaking on me Also maybe a video of good drawing prompts Or showing some good exercises to learn the fundamentals like drawing boxes and other warm ups and stuff This sounds like a really cool idea excited to see more😊

I love the video and th wides of the series! I would like to know how to color. I usually use pencil colors (idk if it is different for oil and acrylic, watercolor… etc) and it is hard to know what color to start, the force you may apply and how to add layers. Idk if you can explain it in 2 min, but it would be cool.

I’ve been struggling so much because I want to do all kinds of art but because I can’t draw well, I have a hard time making the concept art I would need to move forward. I’ve been needing to learn how to draw and I swear this is the only video I’ve seen explaining to just show up regularly.

Hello sir, i have been following you for past 3 to 4 years and i had learnt a lot from you . Now i am very good at doing character, cartooning people and a lot . Well thanks to you I have started a series of cartooning people for 100 days and completed 38 days of it . I like the way you present your work and show them in whole different way . I wish you knew I ve been following u for years ... Always loved the 100 days of Drawings ... I wanna learn some drawing , improving it , all because I love writing and , besides I like writing stuff for adults , I have ideas for the youth and drawing some characters , its giving them life , and the words in the writing would be for us , to know whats going on .... Also , i tend to write ( i try ) stories so i can write a novel in the future , but , I d love to have drawings of the characters, and places ..... all of this , for tomorrow , to end up in a movie .... I made this mistake. When I committed to learning, I found a random fundamental class on Udemy to learn from. But I’d never really drawn much, so my pen mileage was so low I had no context to apply the fundamentals to so they didn’t stick. I needed to make “bad” beginner art for awhile before I could begin to understand the fundamentals.

this came out at the best time this is the exact issue im dealing with.

I did the 100 Days of Sketching Challenge -- twice! First 2022, then again in 2023. The first time was tough enough and I clocked approximately 9670 minutes into the challenge. That's 96.7 minutes per sketch in average which is 1 h 36 minutes and 42 seconds per sketch. (That's not the whole truth 'cos the time varied between 12 minutes and 4.5 hours!) 😲 The second time the total time spent was 6189 minutes, so 1 hour 1 minute 53 seconds in average per sketch. (The variance this time was 6 minutes and 3 hours 15 minutes.) That is over 1/3 faster to complete the challenge. 🙌🏻 This year I'm sticking with Inktober52 challenge. Even though I'm lagging behind a couple of weeks I can already see that the two 100 day challenges have given me courage to boldy go where no pen has touched the paper before. 😁

I recommend to all the artists who want to learn just listen to him and do as he is saying, best guider and mentor... I am doing the same and I see the difference in my progress, It was my thought that i couldn't draw feet any time in my life now i do practice daily no matter what, i dont wait for my mode that i dont feel like to do today i just pick up pencil and paper and just start drawing, and first time in my life i draw feet and draw it supper well booom

What are some recommended sketch pens for beginners?

Here are some I would recommend For fineliners - Sakura micron pens (comes in various sizes, feel free to pick your thickness) - Uniball Fineliner pens - ballpoint pens (for different textures and shading) Brush pens - pentel pocket brush pen - pentel fude brush pen Color markers - there's plenty if options here. Copic markers set is a safe bet. Windsor and Newton also have some good options. - short on cash - get some brush pens and Watercolor pencils from fabercastell. They are pretty good.

Thank you! Here's what you can do to get ideas - Start with a Simple Prompt list with drawong ideas (I've got one for my challenge - 100 Days of Sketching) - Here's the next part, once you have the list, allow yourself to create crappy versions of your drawings. This will help you gain momentum, which eventually leads to a more fun drawing practice. This is the first step. Once you have some momentum and are having fun with the practice, you can start adding little lessons here and there to slowly improve your art Hope that helps :)

Kesh, perhaps you can give me some advice. I use reference what I draw. I do not trace but I look at the art and I can reproduce it with near 99% accuracy yet when I go to draw on my own my drawings look terrible. Any advice for getting over that hump. Yes I use forms and shapes, but still the same result.

No worries. It's a very common problem that can be solved. I gave this when I was starting out too. The reason you able to copy well but not create original art is because that your technical skills is really good but your creative skills I lacking. What we need to do is fill our visual library on our head - "our creative bank account " in order to come up with original ideas that we can produce. I've made a video called "my creative bank account" that might help as well

How do you shade with ballpoint pen?

Step 1 - get a ballpoint that has varying flow of ink. I.e it can go dark if you apply pressure and light if you take of pressure. Step 2 - Practice doing value scales (a simple Google search will give you an idea) Step 3 - Start doing simple objects with light and shadow. Like a Sphere. Then move on to complex stuff. Alphonso Dunn is a good resource for pen and ink drawings. Note - ballpoint shading is all about hatching and crosshatching at a very close level(I.e the ballpoint lines are drawn so close they give the illusion of an even tone)

Definitely not silly. Here's how you show up? - Make it a habit - have a cue, routine and reward. - make it easy to show up - what does your "show up" look like if it were easy? How can it be so easy you can't say no? What I did- I drew just for 6 mins a day. It was easy to do and I was able tonbe consistent. But that often led me to draw more.
