My channel receives the same, .09 for shorts per 1000....the numbers work from this vantage point....OTHER than the fact that I have several 1M+ shorts and am not making that kind of $. Personally, the lion's share of money is from long form. My takeaway is: get better at making shorts and keep the pedal to the metal

For anyone watching this do note that $0.09 is insanely high shorts RPM, and CHANNELS THAT GET MONETIZED THROUGH LONG FORM (like VidIQ) GET HIGHER SHORTS RPMs!!! Pretty important point that I didn't see brought up in this video. Average shorts RPM overall is less than 1 cent per 1k views. That bodybuilding channel probably sees like $0.02 RPM, which is significantly less than what you're estimating here. Would be like $1000 for 30 million views. While making one fully edited short a day? idk if the juice is worth the squeeze.

True. Seriously guys, don't waste your time, I tried this for 1 full month and made 0 bucks. I have literally watched like 250 videos on youtube on how to make money and none worked. Some made a few bucks required too much time for the money you receive, for example working 1 full day to make 15 bucks. It makes no sense. Seriously don't waste your time. No single youtube video will tell you how to make money. Asking chatgpt was better, although no wonderful results, at least they pointed me in the right direction to at least make 40-50 bucks per day that way, for example on those apps to catalog products, but you need to go to supermarket and take photos, but at least im making 40-50 bucks per day and paying my food and rent. No single video on youtube will help you to make money, they only want you to watch the video so they can make money. They dont want to help you to make a cent. You are just wasting your time.

The strangest thing about shorts is that sometimes cringy low effort shorts get millions of views… it’s apparently not about adding value or creating quality. I honestly hate shorts for this reason, but try to make a few per month as some of my viewers do like them. 🤷‍♂️

Shorts are indeed working really great for me on my second channel. I mean, I am just small content creator and I work really hard (I also use a bit of Famester, but I think that is a necessity nowadays). I just give all my videos small initial dose of views and likes, and that causes them to spread literally everywhere, bringing more and more organic views day after day.

KZread used to be people creating content that was helpful or entertaining in an authentic way. Now it's just people copying and pasting nonsense for a quick buck. I've tried making shorts like this but every time I do it feels so cheap. I want content on my channel that I believe in, not just something that was quick to make.

That's youtube today. The algorithm likes things it knows... which means it favours big channels and the same content over and over. Small channels are disliked, and genuine authentic unique content will be ignored.

that was a time when there is no compelling competition for yt content creator. now there is a cascade of content creators where YT needs to fuel them , if their content hits. eventually Revenue interested for Both

A.I wrote my last movie but we still had humans telling A.I’s Story. I agree 3,300% with the concept and the telling a story, not so sure about auto text to speech I would personally want to listen to a humans voice & watch shorts that truly entertain me.

I've tried this on both shorts and long-form and I really can't tell much of a difference. It could just be the niche, or the specific video that might underperform, but it couldn't hurt. Before I learned that YT frowns on re-uploading a video (I would private the current before deleting it to save all the details & tags) then upload it a second time, adding all the tags, etc. Then try different thumbnails, titles, descriptions & keywords. I would then delete the first video. Sometimes it helped, but I think YT knows when content has been re-uploaded as it didn't seem to get pushed out as much, like a new video would. If there is a way- I would sure like to know! lol.

I’m currently trying this and it was going really well! At first…I got shadowbanned shortly after the 3rd upload. Each video was taking off quicker than the last with improving engagement metrics. But within an hour of posting the third, all my videos stopped getting served in the shorts feed. Today’s video is straight up not getting pushed at all…not sure what to do.

Is there any chance for shorts video to get views some time after is uploaded or is it what we get around 6 hour mark, that's it?

If your short has better-quality content it will do better, it will get noticed and shared to more viewers

I know this comment may go missed, but I thought it's worth an ask - Ive recently started on KZread, I'm around 15,000 subs but my issue is that I've been doing reaction videos and I'm not sure what to do to earn money from the platform? i spend lots of time doing videos just to grab subs, the only money I make is from my Patreon but it's not substantial enough for me to do it full-time - I only get views on the reaction videos, when I upload guitar lessons or copyright free content I'm not getting the views.. any suggestions? Please consider keeping the music soft because some of us have a hard time listening to spoken content when there is music playing at the same time. I often need to click away from such videos esp if the music is loud or has many high pitched tones. Don't ask me why. So Is there a limit on the amout of shorts I should be posting a day. Just some sats, I have almost 3k subs and i post 4 shorts a day that get 0-1000 views

I;ve been adding captions to mine and using mostly videos, some picts. The views are hit or miss. I haven't been able to figure out if it is based on keyword, upload time, or what yet.

Late response but from what I've found it's a limit of android phones. No clue why... If you do have an iPhone it's in the settings under upload quality

i started a youtube animation channel in few months my channel is booming in popularity

i have one question if someone reaches 1k subs and 4k hours and become monetized. if you don't upload a video for a while and you don't gain any hours from other videos can you lose your monetisation if your hours drop below 4k or when you reach 4k it just stops counting. I would like to know.

yeah nothing about what he describes here is automation. he's just explaining the workflow of putting together, like, the most basic version of shorts that can be monetized.

I don't take shorts that seriously, uploading only once in a while, and my shorts have an average RPM of $0.06. In general, I dont want to attract people with short attention span into my subscriber base when i currently average 4000 hours a month in watch time with 6600 subscribers. If i were to do it, it has to be a separate channel, but the biggest problem of all, is i dont like videos that feature static images completely. It feels low effort and insincere. When im the viewer or audience of other people's videos, the one thing i hate the most is seeing low effort content. I will always stop watching those kind of videos a few seconds in after i realized what the video is like.

One or two uploads blowing up is cool, but the problem is sustaining those numbers and making sure they don't fall back to my older, slower growth rate. Trying to make just one video blow up each month is not easy. Ideally I'd want that to happen twice a month every month to build on and sustain the momentum.

That's exactly what my plan was with my current channel, but unfortunately i got shadow-banned as soon as i got monetized about 3 months ago. @@ThatNerdDylan it is. My friend got his entire channel deleted without even getting a strike simply for using a thumbnail which had donald trump on it. They later on messaged him via email telling him that his thumbnail was spreading “misinformation” hence why they took down his channel. So technically if your channel involves any form of political propaganda, then you’re liable for shadow-banning or u could easily get ur channel deleted.
