    Good video. So I guess this car does not have the heated pvc valve? How often would you recommend to change the egr valve ? Thank you, Johnny

    there was oil in my pcv valve?

  • @DavidJWarEagle

    +Ran Zhang Hi, I was thinking that $40 for the Motorcraft PCV valve was cheap considering it only needs replacing every 100,000 miles but it's certainly relative.

    Would this cause an oil leakage? My 06 ford fusion is leaking oil but not from the pan from some hose..

    Jenna McFarland It’s possible, I suppose, but it’s difficult to say without seeing where the oil is coming from.

    hello Sir do you know where is the egr valve is located in this car ?

  • @DavidJWarEagle

    @DavidJWarEagle

    Yes, it is bolted onto the driver’s side of the intake manifold.

  • @crimmie114

    is it normal for both hoses with the green tab to have alot of oil in them?

  • @DavidJWarEagle

    @DavidJWarEagle

    10 ай бұрын

    Yes, this is normal because the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system is pulling oil vapors out of the crankcase and into the intake. The inside of the intake manifold will be oily also for this reason.

    Will it be in the same spot on a 2010 4 cylinder fusion?

  • @DavidJWarEagle

    @DavidJWarEagle

    Жыл бұрын

    On a 4 cylinder engine there’s only one valve cover so I think it would be towards the driver’s side of the cover. I don’t know for sure on the 4 cyl though.

    Erskine Nesmith That doesn't sound like a PCV problem. If you have a check engine light, then you can stop by almost large chain auto parts stores and they will read the codes for you.

    That sounds like the dreaded electronic throttle body failure. Sets a hard code (light with the wrench) and goes into limp mode instantly. That's the reason RPM's will not go over 2000. This is a very dangerous situation that has been discussed on many websites because folks are on the highway at speed sometimes when this failure happens and it is not fun trying to control a car that was cruising at 55mph (or more) and is now limited to only 2000 RPM in an instant. Not to mention the cars behind you when this part fails. Of course Ford will not admit there is a problem with the original throttle bodies electronics and will not issue a recall. But they have since re-designed the part. Typical. Here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eHikt9FshbPTpNI.html

  • @DavidJWarEagle

    @DavidJWarEagle

    Most OEM parts websites will ask for the VIN of the vehicle. From there you can search for the appropriate parts for your car. You should be able to find a website if you search for “OEM Ford Parts.”

    There is a VCT solenoid on both banks/heads of the 3.0 V6 on the passenger side. They stick up through the rocker/valve cover where the harness connects to them.

  • @DavidJWarEagle

    @DavidJWarEagle

    This was an early video but you turn it counter clockwise to remove it. I sprayed a little WD-40 where it connects to the valve cover to make it easier to turn. I tried to show the removal technique towards the end of the video.

    It is not cheap, since it cost about 40 dollar. I also replaced it even though i did when i replaced spark plugs and upper intake manifold gaskets. Warning: do not mess with that stupid EGR valve. It is very hard to change EGR valve gasket. I have a leak in the EGR now after replacing the gasket.
