How To: 2 Bucket Car Wash Method With Cyclone Dirt Trap - Chemical Guys Car Care

All those swirls and scratches are hard evidence that you have been washing your car incorrectly for years! Learn the one simple trick that will help you prevent wash/dry swirls and scratches, and keep your car looking showroom fresh for years: The Chemical Guys Two Bucket Method and the Cyclone Dirt Trap.
www.chemicalguys.com/ProductDe...
Dirt Trap Cyclones funnel and separate dirt away from wash water. The Dirt Trap car wash guard uses nearly 300 cyclone funnels to separate abrasive dirt and debris from car wash water. Keeping the dirt already washed away from the car reduces the chances of installing swirls and scratches caused by scrubbing with abrasive dirt.
Traditional car wash strainers use large open screens and vertical fins in an attempt to hold dirt at the bottom of a wash bucket. However, the mere act of dunking the dirty wash mitt in and out of the bucket pushes and pulls any dirt and debris straight up through the screen and back into the clean water. This traps the dirt already washed off the car in the mitt, and causes abrasive scratching action on the next cleaning pass.
The small funnels of the Dirt Trap create cyclonic flow down through the tiny tip of each funnel, spinning heavier dirt particles out of the water through intense centripetal force. The textured underside and small holes of the screen act as a one-way valve: dirt is pushed through the funnels with cyclonic force, but it gets trapped underneath the guard and cannot easily flow back up into the water when the wash mitt is withdrawn.
Use the Dirt Trap in each wash and rinse bucket to minimize the chances of scratching and swirling paintwork during any car wash or full detail.

    I like this dirt trap. I have a firehose type nozzle also and after after a few passes when my wash MIT gets dirty I put the nozzle inside the MIT and turn it on for a few seconds while I run my hand over the MIT to loosen the dirt out.

    Hi! Thanks for your concern over this customer's car, however, in these short youtube videos, we are limited on time and cannot always included all the steps in a single video. Thus, we choose to highlight specific steps that you guys are requesting, or that there may be confusion over, and do the rest off camera. We often don't include steps that have been covered multiple times to save you guys having to watch the same thing over and over again! If you are interested in seeing some videos on how to clean the wheel wells, check out the links below and thanks for watching! kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZiW0saIhKWZmpc.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/gXWixtZtYLjApJM.html

    Good advice but do not forget to clean the upper part of the car first. You mixed upper and lower part in the video. It is better to clean the whole upper part of the car first. Then clean the whole lower part of the car. Never work up and down movements as you did coming from bottom to top. Two laps around the car. Lap 1 only upper part of the car and approximately down to the middle of the door. Lap 2 the bumpers and the lower parts of the door panel. Regards from a pro 30 years experience

  • @ChemicalGuys

    @ChemicalGuys

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hi Peter, the grit guard was an early version of the Cyclone, the Cyclone dirt trap works better because once the dirt gets sucked into the funnel, it can't come back up. Grit Guards work best when you rub the wash mitt directly into the grit guard.

    Just bought one of these dirt traps today and out of three differently made buckets, neither one of them are big enough for this dirt trap to sit flush lie at the bottom which kind of bothers me because what you're saying is not true.
