    What people don't realise about the 4 sided ring, is that TV executives around the world, aren't looking for a wrestling product that differs too much from the WWE. If they are going to have wrestling, they want to have it look like the WWE and they want it cheaper. They want you flipping on the channel and thinking you're watching the WWE. So you flip on AEW and you see a bunch of guys you're familiar with, in a setting you're familiar with.

At the end of the day the decision was made to hand them creative control and power (probably by Dixie Carter). All they did was sign the deals because why wouldn't they? I won't deny that TNA went downhill as soon as both of them were brought in, but it's not their fault they were given all that power. I think Dixie or whoever should have made the decision to bring them in as talent and not bend over backwards for them. TNA was doing extremely well by that point and I loved it, but it was just a mess once they went to Mondays.

    What does he mean he doesn't know what it was? They moved away from their identity and tried to be a sanitised more traditional wrestling show. Started moving away from Nigel Mcguiness/Pope, AJ styles, Samoa Joe and focused on Kennedy, Orlando Jordan and Nasty Boys. The work rate dropped, there was less flips and ring psychology and more Rob Terry types.

    @@kreed82 Dude guys like fucking Steiner, Rikishi, the ECW Originals like Dreamer and Sandman, Scott Hall were in and out of TNA BEFORE Hogan showed up. They wanted to bring in David Arquette in 2007 and got Pacman Jones in the midst of his legal issues and NFL suspension to be a champion. They bumped their own guys down for any cast off they could sign. LAX gets knocked down because the out of shape Dudleys gotta be pushed, Monty Brown gets the shaft because mid card babyface Christian has to be world champion (apparently), Mick Foley gets to be World Champion in 2009. It says something to me when AJ Styles was still being called "The Future" in 2007 after being champion 3 times...that's how bad of a job they were doing at making their own guy actually look like something. And you say Rob Terry, I'll raise you the Johnsons, David Young and Trytan. At least Rob Terry has his stuff with Robbie E going for him, those guys have got nothing by comparison

    @@MrPerfect2000Z those ppl that you mentioned still had worth, could steiner go in the ring? No but his mic skills especially on MainEvent mafia was entertaining. Dreamer and those ecw guys like RvD and Rhino were still producing. By the time dudleys came to TNA they had a lot left in the tank. In the midst of "competing" with wwe of course using marquee names that were free agents would be more beneficial than using tried/tested indy talent that have not moved the needle. Monty Brown left on his own accord had nothing to do with Christian. Can't believe you are comparing these talents to Nasty Boys, Horace Hogan e.t.c

    They may have dealt the death blow and drove the end of TNA into light, but don't forget that it was Dixie Carter who started the death of TNA to begin with... After all, SHE is the one who lobbied with the uppers in management, SHE pleaded and begged with Hogan and Bischoff to come in together, She started all of it and even said She would back the payments if they wanted more $$$ than the head honchos were willing to pay to get them there... And to be 100% honest, if it was only Bischoff and not also Hogan things would've been 1000 times better off. Like look at WCW, things were actually not as horribly bad as they ended up being when it was only Bischoff there before Hogan showed his ugly mug... Yeah the 83 weeks thing happened after Hogan got there, but that was the same type of response that made Hogan wanna have another run in WWE in the early to mid 2000's... It was a nostalgia pop making his Ego inflate and making him think that he was still wanted around that did it... Hogan should've retired in the 90's when he realized he wasn't wanted

    What has Roode ever done to get more eyes to watch TNA? Not saying Hogan and Bischoff didn't do any damage. But Spike TV paid for their contracts not Dixie. And Spike also had more eyes watching than Roode at the top could have ever dreamed of. What I am saying is. He has no stroke to talk down about it. Someone who has lots of success does have stroke. Like I could understand if Kurt Angle or Sting had a problem. Not a guy who couldn't draw much when he was in TNA. Hell he was always forgettable in wwe.

  • @afdcg

    @afdcg

    For most part nobody drew in TNA. Lol. Sting and Kurt angle may have drawn more money than anyone on the roster because they were established while Sting was an icon and legend. But the rest for most part weren't big enough stars to draw eye balls. Most people who loved AJ styles or Daniels was more of a wrestling mark who prefered something over WWE. I would say bringing in RVD, jeff Hardy, Scott Steiner, Hogan, Booker T did grab more eye balls than AJ styles or some guy from TNA would. If AJ or some other guy did that they wouldn't push the older stars. Even today fans don't get the business. Pushing a good worker never makes money. Pushing stars is what makes money. TNA failed mainly because they didn't know who their top star was. Who was really their draw. At least WCW knew Hogan and Goldberg are the main draws. Then Flair, Sting, Luger and Savage were below. And even NWO was a draw. So after a while TNA failed because they didn't know what to do.
