Thanks for talking to us. I appreciate you spent the time. I have brain injury so I can’t talk for even 5 minutes straight. But I speak one sentence at a time, listen back, then redo it or click save. It would amaze people if I told them my one minute video takes hours. 😂 However , no regrets on spending time to learn and try. And I’ve made a few friends along the way.

Thank you for inspiring us. I am also taking my videos in the car during my lunch break. I just take my videos in my iPhone. Do a little bit of editing using a free editing app, then post. I am happy to share my immigration journey to my fellow non-immigrant J1 teachers. I know my niche is small, but I am just grateful to share my ideas and saving them time, money and energy. I think his channel also works with his style, brand, and personality. He is extremely authentic and that is what people want. If he did the exact same videos in his car discussing fine art, I’m not sure it would work. But he is blue collar, honest, and sharing his truth. It is perfect for his niche. I am glad he is doing so well. And based on his habits it shows you need no formal education. He has put in 15 years of personal research. That means he can comment on any subject related to the economy. Love it!

Lesson #1 - Within the first 40 sec of your video create an "If/Then" scenario: "So if you want to...XYZ (appeal to viewers desire), you're gonna want to listen until the end of this video (aka: make the viewer watch your entire video because view duration boosts your channel/ad revenue/etc)." But I think editing doesn't really matter that much anyway on a video of average length that is about a subject that is important to viewers at the moment. Sure, if the videos are 10 minutes or longer, and you have a too many "umms", bloopers, and the first 5 minutes you just amble-on about nothing, etc., then you NEED to edit those out because they just add extra unproductive time to your video and will slow it down. Depending upon whether you record your video with an organized plan or not can make a difference on how watchable it is also. Some channel creators just do not have a clue about planning their video, and they just yap aimlessly and the video is painfully longer than it needs to be because they are so unfocused in their delivery. They ramble on a bit before they ever get to the subject of the video, and then interject side info about unrelated things that ends up being a distraction and makes the video unnecessarily longer than it needs to be.

Yup, I recently said in one of my videos that even though an old video seems to be gaining traction and the expert opinion is to 'double down' on that type of video, I WILL NOT, because I'm no longer into that type of content and I don't want to just do something to please the algorithm or audience, unless I wholeheartedly want to pour my energy into it. Will I miss out on potential faster growth on my channel? Perhaps, but I'd be not true to myself or my own current passions. People change...passions can change/shift and I still have to like myself by the end of the day.

I have been doing faceless but want to try showing my face. I hate my face but want to try something new. My channel is true crime and horror story narration. I figured with true crime, showing my face may be better as to connect with my audience. Congratulations to Simon on a job very well done! 🎉

I do the car studio thing, especially since it's very hard to record at home with a little one and have just bought some new lights and mic that I'm dying to try out. I still like doing some edits but that's the graphic designer video editor in me.

Without editing ok... but a very clear way to speak ! It's very hard to build clear sentences to the audience, without think it before. It's a gift. So let's go back to an important thing on youtube. Each youtuber must bet on their personal natural strength. :)

I always feel editing take away the original raw expression and soul of the video …I am a new creator on YT with some 200 plus subscribers and not many views but my subscribers told me they feel connected to me they feel I am one genuine person .
