At that time people hated on him cause he was considered to be “too good” at the beginning of his career especially with massive attention he was getting especially the source and Benzino all hated him cause they believed he was only getting all awards and attention cause he was white (which is true in some way) but real lyricists like Jay Z Nas Redman Andre 3000 Rakim etc all disagreed and believed his rap skills spoke for themselves. Great video btw!!

Great video! Coming from France, and being a huge hip hop fan since my childhood, I always struggled to understand the beefs between my favorite rappers due to the language barrier. Now that we have access to this type of well crafted content (and I can speak english properly), it is a real pleasure to discover what were the origins of some songs and the culture history. Thanks for the upload, and I'll be sure to check out more of your great content!

The ones who know their history don't. But at this point Ja is a joke, and he did that to himself. I don't like 50 cent. But how are you gonna be mad at a dude having beef with you when you literally tried to kill him on at least 2 separate occasions? Then that guy becomes one of the biggest rappers, co-signed and connected to legends in the game, and you think it's smart to not only diss him more, but to diss Eminem on top of it. He sealed his own fate with his poor decision making and lack of self awareness. He also lacks the ability to let go of his ego, which has been his biggest downfall. I think Ja has/had a lot of talent and has made some absolutely classic shit, but let's not bury our heads in the sand and pretend his loss of success was all because of the fed case. It's because of a lot of poor choices over a long period of time. A cautionary tale of what happens when you let your ego hold more importance than your intelligence.

The saddest part about all of this is that black folks swept this under the rug. They made hella excuses for him like "he was young," "he was just being creative," "he was just venting," "nobody's perfect," etcetera. Benzino turned around and apologized to Eminem. I was like, "Tha fuck?!" How you gon apologize for exposing a racist? Just ass backwards, yo. If black folks even blink the wrong way, they gon be apologizing for weeks on end. Anyhow, in the beginning, Eminem was hella white. During the end of the '90s, he started switching up his accent, clothing, etcetera. The practical reality is that Eminem generated hundreds of millions of dollars for his label. What can you tell a man w/ that much power? Dre and them were probably like, "Sh¡t, oh well. This muthafucka done generated X-Y-Z amount of dollars so let him say & do whatever he want."

That racist mixtape could’ve been the real reason why a black owned Rap magazine could have bias against him. It’s not the fact because he’s just “white rapper”. he was white with a whole racist mixtape. You’re lucky if you’re even featured in the mag after a move like that. Doesn’t matter how old it was, people have the right to act accordingly to your stupid actions. This narrative that Eminem was hated for being a white rapper is dead, because from all the magazines I read and interviews I seen as a teen rarely painted Em negatively.

Who is going to win, a guy with a white fanbase who allowed white kids to act black without caring about black culture? Or the source magazine, where only actual fan of hip hop even care about it? Eminem fans weren't actual hip hop fans and never cared about the culture. And that can make you angry, but its 100% true.
