Drew is now trying to convince to join countryballs fandom.

As a Coloradan, I can say that when going out into the backcountry/mountains (e.x. Skiing), you always carry a beacon, shovel, and probe, in case of an avalanche. They don’t happen every day, but it could occur at any time. Not as much at ski resorts and near roads, but going up highways like Berthoud pass you can just see swathes of the mountainside where all the trees have been mowed down. They are pretty scary, but not an everyday occurrence. Just stay away from sus slopes and take proper precautions

I love how Canada looked at us and went “Guys listen i don’t know how they got there in that burial site but we’re going to get to the bottom of this” Meanwhile us natives just shrugged and said “yeah we knew you were going to say that”

And a goverment investing enough resources into it can take steps to reduce the risks of them hitting populated areas by triggering smaller ones prior to the conditions needed for a big one can occure, building defenses on the path and regulating where things are built. People still die to them though.

As a Canadian, I can say that avalanches are always a threat in the winter. Mudslides here are the summer's equivalent of an avalanche so I guess you could say avalanches happen all year round

11:02 Yes, back when I lived in Atlanta about 7 years ago we had snowmageton and everything closed down because we got 4 in of snow. We literally got snow the Monday after we were supposed to come back from thanksgiving holiday then it snowed till the day before we were supposed to get out for Christmas break then we were supposed to come back and have a shortened Christmas break but it snowed until January the 14th a week after we would’ve normally got back from Christmas break so yes I love snow.
