@@fwogboi that isn’t random. The USA & UK are immensely “corrupt” in this sense. Note that during decolonization, Britain refused to let go of overseas territories. Along with decolonization, they did not leave “financially” if that makes sense. It’s hard to explain, but people think that Switzerland is a tax haven for example… the United Kingdom (and London alone) is over 3/4 of the worlds hedge funds, over half of offshore assets, and has over 40% reach in the worlds global market. That’s more than the USA & Switzerland combined: in just the City of London. Like some sort of financial empire. The Cayman Islands is the most notorious, as you can tell by its prison population per capita. Btw, this ties into the USA because they also take advantage of any of their own overseas territories, however they like the ties that Britain has to its empire, such as Singapore or Hong Kong. They were the only two countries to veto and prevent a democratic global decision making organisation that would decide how tax gets collected across borders. It also explains why Britain is #1 in financial service trade surplus and financial technology; complete corruption. The craziest part of all of this? Note that it’s the City of London, not London itself. This is only populated by about 9000 rich individuals. And they are the source for more than half the worlds global market. That’s a sad reality… sorry for the wall of text

Japan's debt isn't worrisome at all though when you consider the fact that other countries owe three times more money to Japan than the amount of their debt. Hell, what the US owes to Japan by itself would take care of half of Japan's debt. So I wouldn't be too worried there.

@@syzygy1121 Mostly to banks. Some of which are private and some of which are public but it frankly doesn't make any difference in practice. Even private banks would much rather cash in the money they are owed from a foreign power to loan it to their government rather than letting their country go bankrupt like Greece did since that would screw them over as well. So either way, it's still money Japan has access to at any time if they're in trouble.
Fun fact: Hungary,Finland, and Estonia are the only nations in Europe that don’t speak an Indo-European language. 7:35 If you're wondering how hungarian ended up there, it is not that complicated. Hungarian is uralic, because it was created in the Ural mountains, but hungarians decided 'f everyone we're going south'. Then somewhere (around the Russian-Ukranian border) hungarians split into 2. One of them went into the Carpatihian Basin, creating the Kingdom of Hungary some time later, but the other part went down to the Caucasus, then into Turkey (giving the hungarian language a little bit of turkic sound) then to the Balkans, and they also ended up in the Carpathian Basin. Fun Fact: Hungary was originally in Ukraine, but they were afraid of the eastern empires and almost no one was in the Carpathian Basin so they decided to move their entire country there and rename it from 'Etelköz' to 'Magyar Fejedelemség', which became 'Magyar Királyság' in 1000. Now people call this place 'Magyarország' in hungarian, 'Macaristan' in turkish (I think) and many other countries call Hungary by it's hungarian name. (lmao english like f magyar hehehehehe I'm calling you Hungary lol)

Typical english speaker mistakes. The English pronunciation often is the outlier and not the standard along the European langages. Especially with the vowels, almost every country uses single phonemes in their alphabet, only English has two on each one. And the 'e' in 'ie' is always pronounced as a length marker, like the 'h' in 'ih' or 'ii'. Somehow 'ei' and 'ie' got reversed in English...

Also, by this way every country that you owe money to becomes vested in your success and well-being.
