    @@bIehhh the only reason apple don’t use a usb connector in the iPhone is that lightning generate a lot of royalties for then. Anyone that wants to make a iPhone accessory needs to pay Apple to use lightning. It’s not that they don’t think of that or laziness it’s much more simple: money.

    @Mind Of Virtuoso well if he does it on an iPhone 6s (which has a lot of space inside of it) he’ll have one that is still receiving software updates as well. And he’ll only need one chip.

    orientation detection should be easy enough to implement- all you’d need is a comparator to detect which cc pin has a higher voltage, and an analog switch. hope you’ve still got that jank setup for testing? 😁 if i could afford a new iphone (stuck on a 6) i would totally have a go at soldering up one of these, looks like fun.
