How the US Brought FREEDOM to Guatemala
In 1954, Guatemalan president Jacobo Arbenz decided to improve working conditions in Guatemala. His people agreed, but he forgot to ask the CIA for consent.

I mean the oil part isn't true at all because sure the middle east does have oil but however looking at the actual statistics most of the oil in the us is domestic or Canadian not middle east so if it was actually just for oil it would of been better for them to invade places like Russia or canada for oil I'm not saying they didn't do bad things in the middle east no I'm just saying the idea they specifically where there for just oil nothing else is a confirmed myth

Your channel is really good and the perspectives you give too. I do appreciate the lean into Over simplified style videos but I think it could undergo some change to make it a little more personal to you, but this style of video is great too- I think this is more unique but with some customisation the other style could also work as your own thing. I just think some of the similarities should be changed, but keep it up😊❤ you're gonna do great here
I don't think it's wrong to assume that nowdays America is consumed by terms like Anti-terrorism and antifascism, terms that have basically replaced anti-communism and work the exact same way. The US generally likes to label things just to get her job done.

Attention anyone who goes onto videos like this to bitch about how American imperialism somehow justifies current Russian imperialism in Ukraine. Imperialism is evil no matter who does it, whether it's the Americans in Iraq, the Russians in Ukraine, the Chinese in Tibet, the British in India, the French in Algeria, the Germans in Namibia, the Dutch in Indonesia, the Japanese in Korea, the Spanish in Mexico, the Belgians in the Congo, etc. Trying to point fingers and say that "well you also do it" means essentially the same thing as saying everyone does it so it isn't bad and we should just accept it. The only way to even begin to stop it is to condemn it universally, wherever and under whatever circumstances it occurs.

Your video is informative, every empire in history has made colossal impacting mistakes on others; however, we can learn from our past. I honestly feel, though, among all the nations of the world, the US today is democratic, and the people can vote in, feel confident their vote did count, unlike many other nations. perhaps in your videos for the end, look at what progress has been made, and not scold America today because while America may not be viewed in your eyes as a good force, mini viewers of yours will probably be coming from the US or a western country, we actually like the US you can help us be educated and learn, but hold off mocking what the US is today

Just from the time of women's suffrage in the US, there were at least 3 interventions/occupations of the US into Latin America listed in the video (Cuba, Panama, Nicaragua). This one in Guatemala and the coup in Iran that happened in the same year was going on at around the same time the first major pushes in the Civil Rights Movement was happening (Brown v. Board). Brazil was on the chopping block for US intervention by the time of the Civil Rights Act of '64 and the Voting Rights Act of '65. Just because "people can vote" doesn't negate that those in power use it to further US business/military/political interests in the world at the expense of their client states. Hell, we're in an election year now and there's a genocide being used as a political football by both parties. Don't be tone deaf just because you're not in the immediate danger zone yourself while others are because of US policy.

You don't have to be a communist to be disgusted with what took place here. I don't know anything about Guatemala, but your rhetoric sounds exactly like socialist/communist would say. All this clichés "big capital, American empire, working class" etc. Even though, the video is simply poor, as trying to tell the story in black-white colours. I have heard a lot of it from both sides, and only a goal it pursues is to strengthen the beliefs of socialist who come to watch something about bad capitalists, not to find the truth.
