If humans are just very smart animals, then it isn't immoral for the powerful to do what they want. Also, the whole gender debate has to do with procreation. Sure, there are many different gender expressions, but only men and women can procreate. The phenomenon of transgenderism could not exist anywhere at anytime until the Industrial Revolution except amongst some aristocrats. Even then, it was crossdressing, not full-on genital surgery.

Exactly! Christian teachings teach about rehab and REPENT! Death penalty snatches a person's right to repent, and also disturbs God's plans for the person! A civilized and functioning society punishes people in order for them to turn around. I mean, look at Norway's example on crime! Life imprisonment without parole is also cruel. Make it 5-10 years for a felony or for multiple charges altogether and let's turn on a new page. Aand prisons must be reformed in order for rehab to be effectively applied!

I remember how Walsh responded to the KZreadr Sam Collins criticizing his book because Walsh was deliberately misleading on how transition for kids work. In the book, The "scary" Doctor has a big saw and Sam rightly pointed that Kids don't receive Gender Affirming surgery and Matt tried to respond "Well, yeah, but they are using harmful drugs to transition!" . So he knows how transition works for kids, but decides to use the saw in the book so that he can scare kids to be anti trans.

The part about girls marrying in their teens before 1950 is not true either. The age in which people married actually has varied over time. In the 1920s most people got married in their late 20s, similar to now.

@supercrazylegs1 It's not really being trapped since both parties should know what the purpose of marriage is, and what they're getting into and why. Since the purpose of marriage is to facilitate a stable family structure, it makes sense that no-fault divorce ought to be illegal, since destroying your family will never be beneficial to society, especially to the ones directly affected by your selfishness. Also, "gender-nonconformity" is a nonsensical concept, since presenting yourself as if you were the opposite sex doesn't change anything about what you are.

You'll notice in mathews so called documentary when Mathew talks to people he agrees with, he listens, he reinforces their ideas, doesn't challenge them, expands on what they said and even adds visual aids to support their point. When it's someone he doesn't agree with, he edits their answers, even skipping through it because he deems it too long, argues with them, puts up graphics afterwards trying to refute their point. There was no earnest look at what people actually think, it was just an excerise in reinforcing his preconceived beliefs

Personally, I find Walsh’s recent rise in popularity to be rather disturbing particularly due to how joyless his style is. His stuff doesn’t have Shapiro’s smugness, or Crowder’s supposed “humor”, or Peterson’s labyrinth of words. He is terrible at making his contents entertaining in any way other than a dry indignation for being wrong. The fact that he became popular is a sign that their audience no longer need any sugarcoat, and are consuming contents purely out of anger at this point.

Outdoor cats have a significantly shorter average lifespan than indoor cats and are subject to a bunch of potential health issues that indoor cats are unlikely to experience. @@samsmoot1 Cats aren't a wild animal, they're pretty domesticated and highly invasive. It's not just a question of the animal's safety, but of the entire ecosystem. I recommend you do a quick Google search and investigate how they've destroyed native ecosystems in Australia, that's a great case study of what they do pretty much everywhere. If you provide cats with a stimulating environment inside they can fully express their "true nature" without destroying actual nature. when the fix for their ecological damage also improves their wellbeing it seems like a no-brainer. I definitely agree with what you say about zoos, but zoos mostly contain wild animals and are not comparable to domesticated pets being kept in loving houses. I know very little about birds but from what I understand, if their wings are not clipped and they're allowed to fly in the house during most of the day it's not really any different from putting a dog in a crate, which behavioral experts largely agree is completely fine and actually keeps them safe at night (probably even more of a factor with birds since they can access a lot more potential hazards than a dog) so unless you're completely against pets I don't see how getting rid of bird cages is possible.

I was chatting with some Walsh stan the other day and asked them to define 'female' while showing their work and accounting for edge cases. They responded that Walsh had already dealt with that, so I went digging to find whatever pearls of wisdom Walsh might be dropping. There's a clip of him engaging with a trans woman EMT who steps up to the mic at one of his Q&As. The entire conversation can be summed up by two sentences: "Biological researchers would disagree with you [that sex is binary." "Then they're full of shit." The audience cheered and clapped. This, apparently, is what passes for insightful argument on the right -- a simple assertion backed by no evidence while refusing to engage with the other side's points. It fills me with both rage and despair.

The principle of charity would state that Matt Believes that people with gender dysphoria have a mental condition not a physical one and so it does no good at all to have surgery because your body isn't broken. Matt is if your charitable teaching the idea that trans people need to practice body acceptance. I looked it up and he’s a practicing catholic. As someone who was taught about the catholic faith, Catholicism does not condone capital punishment. The fact that Walsh supports that and to such an extreme degree is highly deplorable, not just by a moral standpoint, but by the standpoint of his own religion. Historically yes, this teaching was altered only under Pope Francis relatively recently, but still-if he calls himself a practicing Catholic yet vehemently denies church teaching that “all have a right to life”, he is going against his faith! Not to mention his hypocrisy in being pro-life yet supporting the death penalty. There’s a Catholic ideology called something like “unbroken cloth,” that, like Jesus’ clothes, our beliefs must uphold one truth, and therefore cannot contradict. He is directly breaking this. Not like I expected better from Matt Walsh lol but I think it’s just interesting

People can be pro life and pro death penalty, however the issue is that Matt Walsh, who is a practicing Catholic and bases many of his political debates in views shared with other Christians, is contradicting the Catholic Church in his beliefs about those topics. He’s being hypocritical while attacking others. He should examine the log in his eye before pointing out the “log” he perceives in others. But people exist who are absolutely pro life and pro death penalty.

Maybe it's just me but when I hear Matt say that 16 year old girls should be getting pregnant and raising a family, I get a weirded out. Statistically speaking, a large percentage of teen mothers are impregnated by adult men. Also, most 16 year old boys can't work full time, can't sign a lease, and can't maintain a household. The undertones of his statement are worrying.

Thesis 1) Women (really girls) should marry young so they can make with the childbearing and childrearing while the getting is (supposedly) good. Thesis 2) Children should be raised in 'stable', one-income households where the man is at work all day earning money and the woman is maintaining the home in his (temporary) absence and raising said kids. Unspoken Thesis 3) Rich men in their adulthood to middle age (because apparently men don't suffer any degeneration in their capacity to sire children as they age, despite what current reproductive science says) should have their 'pick of the litter' when it comes to these women (or girls). I firmly believe that Matt Walsh believes that rich (white) men should be able to pick whatever young woman (or girl) they want, and because these young women (or girls) would have no capacity to fend for themselves (because of compromised upbringing and lack of independent financial resources), they just have to 'grin and bear it'.

Ooh I really hate the teenagers are “peak” fertility argument. All people like this mean is that younger eggs are better and deteriorate over time. Therefore teen eggs are better. By that logic, a woman’s fertility peaks the moment she gets her first period, as that’s the first time her eggs can be released to be fertilised, and it’s all down hill from there. That’s what they are really saying and it’s bloody creepy to say the least, and dehumanising to be more accurate. Does that mean it’s the peak time for her to get pregnant and become a mother? As someone who got their first period at 10 years, 11 months… I say NO! It’s such a dehumanising argument. Do they mean peak as in the most stable, emotionally mature, economically sound, educated, in a loving 2 parent home (the 2 parents seems very important to them)? No They mean peak in terms of carrying their progeny to term. Because they don’t care about the woman, she’s just the life support for the uterus carrying their genes.

Walsh is a strange beast. I can't say he isn't talented at all because he gained an audience, and I think his talent is putting on a very good act as the "every man's man". He is relateable. His dry humor, deadpan personality, and no bullshit delivery are oddly effective tactics. He doesn't pull punches and doesn't back down and people respect him for it. I can say I have watched him talk on some topics and I laugh at him complain about tipping and shopping carts and mundane topics and cringey TikTok videos. With that said, the guy is the most "boomer", antiquated, backwards 30-something I have ever seen! His takes on being an adult, marriage, homosexuality, the role of women, the role of men, science, climate change, politics, COVID, and intellectuals is straight out of the 1950's. His views range from silly and outdated to highly dangerous. He is part of the "anti-expert" crowd on the right who pretends like his high school degree is on even par with experts on so many topics. He speaks confidently as an authority on topics he doesn't know much about. He is one of the religious buffoons who hasn't done much thinking about why he believes it. That also said, I don't think he should be underestimated. He knows how to troll people and make the opposition look foolish to his followers by cleverly editing videos and chopping up footage. He knows how to play the left's cringe content and the "check every box" diversity pandering that media is doing now. The Bud Light situation should never have happened, as it exposed the trans movement to tons of mockery. His type of strategy is being used by almost everyone on Daily Wire now and it's not getting less popular.

I've watched Matt since his early days. He lays out a very strong defense of his faith and views in his earliest videos and after awhile I think assumes everyone watching just knows and understands the way he operates. As to your point about the "anti-expert" crowd, I dont understand how you dont see his point. Everything, I mean ALMOST EVERYTHING that the right was saying about Covid in the beginning that the so-called "experts" were denying, censoring, and silencing (masks didn't stop the virus, the virus came from a lab in china, the lockdowns did more harm than good) has proven to be true now. The mainstream media has as good as admitted it but they don't care to admit it now because they have abandoned that fight and have now put all their firepower behind the alphabet cult in the gender wars.

Idk I think he has a presence on camera, and the fact that people don't question the table of things he talks about is really weird to me tho. But I believe that station has worked really hard to hit this like "hip vibe". Finding a really nice combination of warm and anti social vibes. The money these guys rake in is on another level. Even matt walshs movie seemed incredible in terms of production value and such-- for what it was.

Matt Walsh argues in the style of proclaiming that everything more complicated than A=A is somehow pushing an agenda by trying to confuse the reader. In that one Tennessee public hearing he got absolutely grilled at, he essentially kept referring to HRT as chemical castration over and over, and his argument for his own authority on the matter was that he was a "human being with a brain and a soul", i.e. that it was so obvious to him, it must be obvious to everyone else. Not to mention the fundamental conservative mantra, "it used to be this way, so it worked, so it's natural, so it's good". He keeps using that too, all the time.

There seems to be a lot of intersection between conservative ideology and the "(appeal to) personal incredulity" fallacy. "If I don't/can't understand it, then it must be false or not make any objective sense." So whenever people want to make changes that reflect new ways of seeing or understanding things, conservatives may want to push back on those changes specifically because the desire or need for making those changes is based on a shift of understanding something that they themselves couldn't comprehend. So they see no need for such change and consider that change unnecessary or even problematic. And then they resist that change or even try to undo it. When it comes to LGBT identity politics, this is often why conservatives like to bring up the old, tired "basic biology" argument. "Whatever do you mean that there's more to the science of biology than the handful of facts they taught me about the male and female reproductive systems when I was in middle school? You mean that if I were to study biology some more, including at a college/university level, or especially got advanced degrees in biology and studied for professional research, that there could turn out to be more about how human sex works that goes beyond the basics? Nah, preposterous. Middle school biology is all there is and if literal scientists who study this stuff for years and for a career tell me otherwise, I will just dismiss it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go argue with a physicist next because they were talking about subatomic particles called quarks. No it doesn't you just don't understand what the definition of female is. The definition of female is individuals in a species that when things are biologically functioning properly can produce offspring. Yes there are diseases, there are deformities, that can result in a female that cannot bear children. Those are however diseases and deformities and abnormalities precisely because they prevent normal healthy expected biological processes that would be there but for the problem. If you have ovaries and eggs and milk glands and a bajingo and two X chromosomes etc. Your a female. Your a female by the plurality of evidence not the lack of one. All the primary and secondary sex characteristics determine your sex as a collective. This is why for example you can identify a female at a glance with like 99.5% accuracy off just a glance alone. So no there is no circular logic there. The problem on the progressive side is that defining a woman by it's nature means that you need to exclude people. The moment you say what something is, you also say what it isn't and there is no definition which covers everyone they wish to cover and so they have to define woman as "well I mean, you know, you know what a woman is" and use the conservative idea of well it's common sense really to say

It seems you need clarification, so let me explain. There are males and females, and we have short-hand linguistic terms to describe them. So instead of constantly saying, "The adult human female," we shorten it to "the woman." Neat huh! We do this for all animals too! For instance, an adult bovine female is a cow or a heifer. So if I ask, "What is a cow?" you can say, "An adult bovine female that has given birth," instead of "A cow is whoever feels they are a cow." Wow, you learned so much today!

10+ years ago before Walsh had any semblance of mainstream success he had a blog that was popular with a lot of fundamentalist Christians, that’s how I was first exposed to him. Even as thoroughly brainwashed kid in an extremist Christian environment I disliked Walsh back then because he seemed so mean and misogynistic.
