Rhett is quickly becoming the nexus of KZread Guitarists. Between JHS, Tim, Pete, promoting Madison, hanging at Norm’s. Probably just sold 50 Novo Miris axes. I know I want. Do you have a signature with them? Incredible tone and dynamics. Some friends of mine ask me how I improved my soloing on guitar over the last couple of years, while they stayed the same. It’s finding a great amp, and it’s watching the right KZread videos.

Man, I appreciate Rhett's commentary and insight to music and musicians. I've only ever dabbled in playing myself but as an independent promoter (small local shows), his insights are so inccredibly valuable in learning what makes good musicians and good music. I find myself listening for the little things that I have learned from him over the years and I, personally, feel like it has made me more valuable to the people I promote. Thank you Rhett for just doing you, man. I wish I had more people like you in my personal life. You make music better... and the people that suport it, promote it, and play it better as well. Much love!

Cool episode. I have been watching Tim Pierce for a long time and I can now often pick out his monster chops from pop tunes that we all know over the last 30 years. Checking the credits... Yep that's Tim. Such an awesome player that reminds me of Steve Lukather in many ways because he can do everything well and really add a lot of interest to a song. I didn't know Corey and I really liked his approach to soloing over these unusual changes. It was fresh, interesting and with a lot of surprises. I'd guess Corey listened to and covered David Gilmour a lot because he takes a similar approach that draws a listener in with theme and melody. Really cool.

My college band played SO many major scale songs! Then my Head Baseball Coach joined us on stage pulling out blues style harmonica and we naturally just clicked. Our call and responses were unique because of the minor/major mix and it brought a lot of dynamics. We also instinctively just knew how to build off each other. It really helped me to rethink how I solo. Definitely developed into more of Pierce style player.

Corey solo is absolutely fantastic, came back to listen to it countless times! The way it evolve and grow up in intensity, the way it makes the backing tracks shine (that bend on the À major 3rd!!), the sound that cut thru the mix the best way possible (definitely have to try these gold foil pups)... Really blown away! I like Tim very much and have a immense respect for him but he seems off topic here. To my ears at least, he transforms the song into something else. Certainly not what a producer would expect imo.

I was going to comment on the Dave Gilmour licks by Corey and then he brought it up himself. Leaving space, something Gilmour is a master of. Doubling up a phrase with a slight difference to create something memorable, something Don Felder did really well. How freaking good is Tim Pierce and his Les Paul is gorgeous.

I’ve been listening to Tim Pierce since I was a kit, wanting to be as good as the guitarist who laid down those solos for artists like Rick Springfield and Meat Loaf. It’s fantastic to get to hear and see how he puts a solo together. I don’t no Corey’s work as well, but I’m just good enough to understand what he’s doing, or maybe he’s that gifted at explaining his choices. Oh, and all my sympathy for dealing with Bell’s. I had to go through that, and not only was speaking difficult, but eating and drinking was, well, an experience. I hope the pressure eases of on your nerve soon.

I like watching these videos during my lunch break yoga sesh. The bends really helped me streetttchh it out. Fyi Corey is one of my favorites. Love his solo style so so much. Reminds me of the eagles and yes I wanna learn what his head is thinking! - but I've kinda ran through all his lessons - I wish we could learn his style but outside of blues CHORD progressions - that would help me a lot with what I currently need. I know if I actually absorbed all the theory I could easily translate - but I'm still not there yet. I have out my nose to grindstone for quite a while with guitar and some theory confuses me (the way its taught doesn't connect my heada dots lol)

Great players. Great video. My grandmother had Bell’s Palsy and I can’t imagine how annoying it must be.

Great lesson! A lot of folks seem to have this weird Bell Palsy thing these days…had never heard of it before, kinda scary ! Hope you get better soon! Keep it up with the great lessons !👍🏻

This was interesting, and special in the fact that you opened the opportunities for your friends to showcase over the songs. Perhaps you could let some of the people enrolled submit their attempts and feature them?
