How the Phillies Won the Phanatic War

Спорт

The traditional Phillies Phanatic costume that fans adored has returned for the 2022 MLB season! For the past two years, the future of the Phanatic was in jeopardy. But the baseball world was relieved when the Philadelphia Phillies won a major victory in the Phanatic litigation, and used that victory as leverage to negotiate the return of the beloved, traditional Phanatic to Citizens Bank Park. This video attempts to explain the litigation and how the Phillies were able to achieve victory in the great mascot litigation of 2019-2021.

As a massive phan of the Phanatic, I must say I appreciated this video immensely. Thank you so much for all the time, effort and passion that clearly went into this. However I must say that the name Tom Burgoyne MUST be mentioned when discussing the creation of the character of the Phanatic. He’s been the Phanatic for 33 years now and his contributions have been immeasurable. 💚

Background music should be just that. It shouldn't be so loud it drowns you out...

The Phillies should create they're own mascot racing team like the Racing Philly Cheessestakes, well that's what's Philadelphia is famous for.

Let’s see, a cheesesteak, a pork roll and a soft pretzel. Those could be the starting points. Maybe throw in a hoagie. 😁

A Cheesesteak comes different types of toppings , like the Cleveland Guardians's foot long hot dogs, the Philadelphia Phillies can name their characters after the different types of toppings that goes in a Philly Cheesesteak. Mushrooms, Onions, Peppers, Tomatoes, and Velveeta

@@railron1935 Perhaps. I mostly get to go to Nationals games, and I know the Presidents’ race is fun, especially back when Teddy hadn’t won a race.

@@PhiladelphiaBaseballHistory I did watch Teddy win races here on KZread because there's videos of him winning races, like that video where he does the Gangnam Style, and that other video where he send out the Pittsburgh Perogies on the other Presidents.

@@PhiladelphiaBaseballHistory It should be the classic cheesesteak "wit wiz", an Italian hoagie, soft pretzel with mustard, pork roll, and scrapple. I could also say a butterscotch krimpet or peanut chews, but then you would have to pay royalties to Flower Foods (owner of TastyKake) and Just Born (owners of Goldberg's Peanut Chews) respectively.

They could have paid for the rights of the costume design years ago for allmost nothing. Or offered a decent offer , they choose not to
