My spina bifida is not as severe as other people I can walk but it’s really not that good and hurts to do so sometimes. If I’m going in a store or somewhere where I’m gonna have to walk a lot I will take my chair but if I’m around my house I use my electric scooter. But since I’m getting my wheelchair very soon I will use that more. You are a really big inspiration from everything I’ve seen you do in your wheelchair and I’m exited to see if you can get back to walking with the C brace. I started watching this channel back in August and watched a lot of your videos since. Thank-you for everything you have taught me and everything you have taught other people and showing people you can be independent and you can live normally.

I am similar situation, c brace is great but the price tag is what makes it impossible for many to access decent technologies like c brace. I am in uk and I have tried plastic kafo, afo and now its coming to self fund but thats impossible for many ..... Hope this c brace helps and to work with Ottobock would be great for you and followers.

@@Make_the_day_better yeah, it’s pretty sad how things that are made for disabled people cost so much, my friend who has issues with his hands bought a spoon that is made for Disabilities and paid 75.00, seems like we are taken advantage of, hope all is well, peace and a God Bless

Here’s some incentive ,I have the exact injury , right down to the left knee overextending missing nerves in the left quad ,so the left leg is weak and the knee is floppy almost. If it could fix all that it might be worth it . I’d love to have a look at that Leg Brace Guys !!! And I’m sure I’m not alone .

I've been diagnosed with a femoral nerve disfunction/ femoral neuropathy... I had knee surgery back in August of 2019. Since surgery I have lost the ability to extend the knee all together. After 1 year of numerous scans, multiple failed therapies, x-rays, etc; we finally found what was going on. It was nearly another year later to conclude why it happened. Now that it has been 2 year the atrophy in the quadricep is unreal. About a year ago I received an extension assistant knee brace which really changed the game for me... for a little while. Today as I was getting new padding put in my brace and new straps I was told to check out the C-Brace by Ottobock.. this could give me so much of my life back. I have 3 small children and as a father one of hardest things to do is tell my kids I cannot interact with them when it comes to activities like biking, hiking, and more. I still do it but I constantly feel like a fun spoiler because my pace is 10 times slower than their's... I seriously hope this is something I could get my hands on in the greatest desire to get my life back. No more fighting steps, hills, knee buckle, falls, gait, etc.

The C Brace sounds amazing! And how you deal with the stairs brought back memories. I can go up stairs but down? 😓 I'm not paralyzed or anything but I am unsteady on my feet and going down stairs makes me nervous. I have hold onto the guardrail and go one step at a time too. C-Brace's sound amazing for those who need help to walk or pain management. The only braces I have are for my hand and foot on right side (old injuries that lead to Osteoarthritis and other issues). I used to have the G Clavicle Brace too and that helpful for my back. I need something good for my shoulder though.

Every time I see your knee hyper extend I cringe and get phantom pain 🤣 I use a wheelchair because I have Ehlers danlos syndrome so when I walk my legs hyper extend like that too and my joints pop out so I totally understand why you don't want to be using that knee. X

For the knee hyperextension, there are knee braces to prevent that. They have a hinge at the knee and then straps around the thigh and calf

Go for it! Like I said in the last video you posted, I’ve been watching a lot of videos with people using the brace, and it seems that they get quite a good results. There’s no surgery that will take the pain away from my knees and my legs, but I do use knee braces to take some of the stress off.

Kinda same as you, I don't have sci, but chronic pain, fibromyalgia and paraparesis, both my ankles are unstable and both my knees go to hypertension, I can walk very short distances without any aids, I can walk for 10-15 minutes with 2 crutches but for anything else I use my wheelchair. I have been using a wheelchair for 2 years now but I still hate it, I wish to be able go anywhere without it, by my feet, walking without crutches, anything is more difficult than before, I wish I could brought my guitar on my back and go but I can't and I still need someone who carry it to me, when I go out for a concert I need to ask someone to carry my guitar and my crunches 'cause were we go are never accessible places and I hate it! I hate to not being able to be independent and to need help and to disturb someone to do such things! I sow this video and now I'm gonna look this braces up, if they really could make me walk again I would be the happiest man in the world! So thank you for this and all other videos you brought on this channel, they are so helpful for people who has just started to use a wheelchair!

Hyper extension is really bad for anyone, including the able-bodied. When I work out, I always make it a point never to lock my knees & elbows, also because by not locking the joints, it actually works out the muscle more.
