How the new LTAMDS radar will thwart evolving air defence threats (Studio)
In an increasingly unpredictable international landscape, the US and its allies must prepare to engage an evolving set of airborne threats.
The Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) aims to meet this demand, with rapid progress being made by Raytheon Missiles & Defense and the US Army.
LTAMDS is a 360-degree, Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar. It will detect and track the full range of threats, including ballistic and cruise missiles, fixed-wing aircraft, and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

Some excellent digital beam forming and steering involved to allow the use of only three radar panels to get 100% radar coverage. The digital backend of the system must be excellent. The way it retracts the radar panels into the trailer ready for transport is also impressive. Obviously this radar is going to be teamed with an upgraded Patriot Air defence system which earns a big thumbs up from me. In the age of Hypersonic threats 100% radar coverage and quick reaction times are a necessity. I have heard Aegis ashore in Poland is also due for a radar and software upgrade if it hasn't had one already. Poland is getting treated to the best the US and it's allies have to offer but at a substantial price. 😎🇦🇺👍
An interesting fact is that the new LTAMDS radar is only available to the US Army and the Polish Army, which has recently received it, and the process of integration with other Polish mobile auxiliary radars of the "SOLA" and "BYSTRA" type is underway.

O radar é 100 % excelente. Mas 120 % de eficiência.. um capacitor 2 pra 1 processador com 100 w por segundo resfriado por 3 cooler e um chip de galium metal, precisaria de 100 nós aquáticos de rastreio em eficiência.. em outras palavras " um processador requer 100 w energia por segundo."

duh this is meant to make patriot better. and no system is 100% dude, every air defense misses alot too, only 90% success rate for the best air defense...the old patriot was already updated and upgraded since back in the Iraq war
