Tesla copied BYD. And got seed money from U.S. Government. And has operated at a lost every year, if it was merely about producing cars and selling them. Only reason for any profit is Branding that relates to shares and Carbon Credits. Without milking the U.S. Government, Tesla would also have been out of business long ago.

They both operated and competed in the same market until around the the late 90s and 2000s. Both companies then found their own unique markets and dominated them.

Barring the massive recall and earthquake in California, Tesla has probably much better chance to survive for next 5 years than FCA/PSA or Ford. If you say it will fail please put a timeline for it, because if timeline is long enough everything will fail.
