TBH I thought the video was just a guy rambling about various examples of incest in media to justify his search history while what most of the commenters wanted was a discussion about the frankly baffling amount of incest porn that seems to have come out of literally nowhere and flooded the internet. At worst it was just a mid tier video essay but a bunch of people seem to have taken genuine offense at how inoffensive it was.

The topic of success getting you more hate is exactly why I was frozen so long to put myself out there. My first thought would be "what if people hate this? what if this is all a mistake?". I experienced an intense wave of hate as a small no name creator, and it destroyed me. I didn't make anything at all for years, not even for myself. I would love to say "haha! it's just a screen! internet people don't care!", but I DO! I was in a sensitive place at the time, and really needed support, and getting the opposite crushed me. From that day onward I saw myself as a useless and horrible person. Until I met someone who was similar to me, who became loved and successful, and I realized that maybe there was hope. Eventually I got restless and tired of doing nothing! I realized the only way to get 0% hate would be to be *nothing*. And even then some people might not like you for being nothing! I'd rather be making things and enjoying that process, than pushing myself down, for hate comments that don't exist yet.

I can't believe Celery Dust would make a video commenting on current drama just to farm engagement. Imagine having the gall to bring up popular video, not actually talking about it, and getting a million views. Clickbait. Dislike and unsub.

my biggest successes in life came not from doing a thing, but doing a thing so i could do another thing using the previous thing and also what i had a natural apptitude for. theres this whole backlash against being productive for the sake of being productive and thats fine and all, but without the backbone of having a higher purpose you can't foster a detached view that would help the most in your personal amibiton. something i try to keep in mind when to comes life goals careers etc is that is has to be worth the toil, the bad , the take in order to achieve it. these youtubers want the popularity which often comes hatred, do you think the haters are even aware of the reason why they hate the piece of media in first place? not the on surface reason but the combined dislike that would cause them to hate the thing in the first place? I sure as shit don't think so on a sidenote concerning yourself as an artist a creator of sorts with what others do is not going to be the path that will lead to your success. you may not be successful for hundreds of years your great grandchildren could auction off your blood and sweet and toil for 3000 units of future currency, and following a path means accepting that despite your hardest efforts you may not get what you want. But i think the biggest tragedy is not trying in the first place
