This is how it felt trying to "learn" in public school math class. The teachers did not give af and then wondered why their class was underperforming.

I had a teacher that did nothing but write notes on the board and when she was done she'd sit down and play Candy Crush on her phone until we were finished. Then when we didn't do well on tests she legit asked us "What happened?"

Bro I had one failing class my entire school life, 8th grade life science. This teacher assigned so much homework and used so many trick questions it was laughable, couple that with the fact that she taught almost exclusively using videos while she sat back and read a book made her have an 80% fail rate in her class. Over every class(and trust me my smart-ass did the math when she ordered a parent teacher conference ) she had a nearly 70% failure rate; she had less than 1% of students receiving an A.

I had a math teacher who would constantly just do the work but not explain a lick of the shit to anyone because "you should already know how to do this" or "didn't you learn this last year" which was just a big fuck you to any kids who had just came to the school, one time we had a test and like 90% of the class failed and my friend was all the only one who did and even he was like "yeah that was a close one, and if most of the class fails your test it's on you as a teacher"
I've only seen are you smarter than a 5th grader once and one of the questions was "what is the most common first name among US presidents". Why the hell an average adult would know that off the top of their head is beyond me. It seems like a big chunk of the show is really "do you remember some useless trivia you learned in elementary school".

Trivia indeed. Send the trivia to an archive until the information isn't trivial anymore.
I had a math teacher that would quickly explain the NEW math we were learning once, then only did example problems on the board, then had the AUDACITY to tell me "maybe if you were paying attention you'd already know this by now" when I asked for help. I immediately fired back with "Maybe if you were a better teacher we would already be done with this" And I still don't regret it to this day

Exactly what I'd be thinking when I watch that show like kids are smart as hell nowadays because I didn't learn that in the fifth grade or high School

@jonahmiller988
9 ай бұрын
can you explain how you find the awnser?
@upgradexplaya3893
9 ай бұрын
@@jonahmiller988 First step is to remove the denominator (ax-2) by multiplying both side by (ax-2). The equation now becomes 24x^2 + 25x - 47 = - 8x(ax-2) - 3(ax-2) - 53. Since a is constant we will just say a=1 for now, the right side of the equation is now - 8(1)x^2 + 16x - 3(1)x + 6 - 53. Cleaning it up makes it - 8x^2 +13x - 47. Then you would take this equation to the left side (or vice versa) then the equation becomes 32x^2 + 12x = 0 (make sure to switch the value of +/- when bringing the equation to the other side). Pluging our final equation into quadratic formula will give us x=0 and x=-3/8.

Maths became torture when they brought letters into it
I heard that they gave books to the kids to study specifically for the show so they could learn/memorize potential subject matter for the show, which made sense to be bc i went to one of the better public high schools in my state and there were still questions i was clueless about while i was in like 9th grade. Meanwhile those "5th graders" were answering those questions in like 10 seconds😅
