How the Far Right Use Memes to Recruit | Decade of Hate

Ойын-сауық

How did the far-right use memes to code and cloak their hateful ideologies?
Memes are some of the most used and ubiquitous images on the internet. If you’ve used the internet over the last decade, there's no chance you’ve not seen one.
Political parties and groups of all persuasions have jumped on the meme culture bandwagon, but none more so than the far-right, who have weaponized irony to cloak their hateful ideologies and spread their memes far and wide into non-political spaces.
Not content with poisoning the online discourse, far-right memes have also breached the physical space, playing a part in an escalation of far-right violence across the globe.
But how did this happen? How did a cartoon frog and a simple hand gesture impact world politics and normalise hate speech?
Correction: Monday 9 August
An earlier version stated that Charlottesville is in North Carolina instead of Virginia.

Just look at the ways the copyright laws have been effected by them or how taxes are for them and corps like them. They’re a massively profit driven, success corporation. Of course they want to influence politics to change laws to make their tax situation better and increase $$. It’s a smart business move. And they do already own massive media corporations.

Why is that their non diverse nations do so much better than our own, and on so many different metrics? Diversity is not a strength. Diversity is weak Why is diversity said to be our greatest strength? Does anyone even ask why? It is spoken like a mantra and repeated ad infinitum “diversity is our greatest strength, diversity is our greatest strength, diversity is our greatest strength...”. Said throughout the media, spoken by politicians, educators and celebrities. But no one ever seems to give a reason why. What gives a nation strength? And how does diversity increase that strength? What part of diversity causes this increase in strength? No one can give an answer. Meanwhile the “diverse” nations across the world are scenes of endless social, political, religious and ethnic conflict. The United states is one of the most diverse nations on Earth, and they are about an inch away from tearing each other to pieces. Brazil with all its racial diversity is completely fractured as a nation, where people cannot get along and separate and self segregate whenever possible. South Africa with all its “diversity” is turning into a bloody backwater as its diversity increases, black on other black, black on white, white on black, black on Indian, doesn’t not matter, its ethnicity vs ethnicity. They all turn on each other in the end. Why is it that what gives Western nations strength(diversity)is not what gives Eastern nations(China, Japan, Taiwan,South Korea)their strength? How are they so strong, China set to be the worlds most dominant nation in this century, whilst lacking diversity? Why is that their non diverse nations do so much better than our own, and on so many different metrics? Diversity is not a strength. Unity, purpose, trust, traditions, nationalism and racial nationalism is what provides strength. Everything else is just a catchphrase. DIVERSITY IS WEAKNESS, UNITY IS STRENGTH

Reality has a left wing bias. Right wing economic/social arguments are usually idiotic with a clear line to industry politics. The right wing exists purely to fight for the benefit of oligarchs. If you feel any differently, you have been successfully duped. Right or left, people at the bottom are fighting eachother, one side is pointing out what's happening, the other side is shouting about Jesus or masks. Anywhere else in the world, the US right wing would be a laughing stock, but your country was built on corporatism.
