@sassymatazzy Probably because it shows both sides can believe on ACTIONS we need to take but this country is so divided by the REASON that it doesn't happen, despite the fact that the reason shouldn't inhibit our ability to work together. Compromise simply comes from getting each other to do an action regardless of each other's reasons and we can't do that anymore.

The Soviet Union attempted numerous times to form an anti-fascist coalition with the West, which the West promptly ignored as they made more money trading with Germany. The 'alliance' between the Soviets and the nazis amounted to the Soviets trying to make sure the nazis get the smallest amount of Polish land to massacre, and to grow their war machine with.

I get along fine with my older dem neighbors but they are more moderate. I still love on their dogs at the fences and snowblow the older lady's sidewalk in winter. I love talking to people and getting to know them, which I've been doing for decades. Something has really changed though. In the past, people would chat about all kinds of stuff, including really personal things and now many people I come across only want to talk about their political views. They tend to weave their very, very strong opinions into any and every subject, which pretty much ruins the conversation.

The thing that makes this so funny is that it is 100% relatable.

Conservatives are the protecters of nature and the leftist are the rebels of nature because there is somthing called biology, and all what the left encourage is against biology, for example feminsim saying that women are the same with men or that there's more than one sexuality or that a person can change his gender as he wants, are these things true and acceptable if we come to biology ? they say the exact same thing in this sketch because the supposed "far leftist" is a liberal rather than a leftist, and thus has the ideological idiosyncrasies of a liberal. for example he opposes big pharma because he sees the problems caused by private monopolization of medicine, but supports pfizer because he supports vaccines. If he were a leftist he would realize that vaccines can exist without pfizer, or big pharma in general - for example, if the state produced them. Basically, he has the right intentions, but he's too tied to the status quo and doesn't understand that there are possible alternatives.

If we assume we live by the same ethical principles of harm reduction and maximization of happiness then it seems to me there can only be one correct political position, or at the very least not two opposing ones at the same time. If you believe in other principles, like enriching some at the extent of the many then yes, it's equally valid insofar such ideologies can be taken seriously to begin with. But it also makes you an a-hole and makes it very hard for you to objectively justify shunning others for adopting the same attitude towards you. If urine is an excellent conductor, you can say seeking electrocution and avoiding electrocution are equally valid positions, but you can't claim pissing on high voltage lines is equally valid as not pissing on high voltage lines if your metric is safety. There's no 'enlightened centrism'. There's just fact and what result you are looking for. But again, name a few of these hypocrisies so we can discuss them directly.

The irony or misconception here is that Conservatives & even most who are considered “far right” are all for Immigrants coming to the US for a better life! That is a lie that comes from liberal media & celebrity socialists. It’s just that millions of immigrants have already come here & they are doing all the right things to obtain citizenship, but have to wait YEARS for it to happen. A huge problem! Government doesn't care about you? What is it exactly do you want from your government that is powered by the people who most likely dreams to be rich/powerful. The leaders are rich, so they're not "the people." Who the fuck are "the people"? Sooner or later you build an idea who labels people for their current networth e.g. "If you're over x amount of income/networth, then you're not part of 'the people' anymore." The system works overtime as the 'small supported idea' grows through the power of freedom of speech and becomes 'the most supported idea' only to be hated/corrected by a new 'small supported idea'. Its a god damn circle - a loop to create 'the perfect government' which doesn't exist. But, the idea and hope keeps us talking of what a perfect government could be. If it does exist, then freedom of speech is in it.

I think a lot of people are finding themselves in that same middle spot as you. It may be because people strongly disagree with a certain politician on whichever side and then associate that dislike with everyone who shares a party with that politician. A lot of conservatives build houses for homeless people and volunteer at shelters and kitchens. A lot of liberals donate blood and build community gardens and raise money for charities. Most (obviously not all) people have an instinct to be helpful to others in need. Political labels, though useful in some specific cases, are usually not helpful when applied to every area of life. This division is very beneficial to politicians seeking votes and that is why they push it every chance they get, with the help of cable news, leaving the rest of us all reaping the harvest of their bad seeds.

Both of them if given power would destroy innocent people in different ways... Saw an article where around 6% are far right and 8% are far left. That's still too many. Feel like this is gonna turn into a dogfight.

I love how people have different ideas based on the same facts and say that the other side is wrong simply because they put labels on them. The way people have gone about is: if you are Republican, then you HAVE to agree with all of their stances and if you are Democrat then you HAVE to believe in all of their stances.

Thank you! I hate that mentality. I have some strong conservative beliefs, some strong liberal beliefs, and some mild middle of the road, could go either way beliefs. That is ok. You could align with every liberal belief except your pro-life, or every conservative belief, but you're pro-choice and that's ok. That's allowed. Stay independent and vote for policies and politicians that support what you think is best. I vote mixed ticket all the time. If you are voting exclusively based on "D" or "R" next to the name, then you're part of the problem

Love this, comedy always shines an honest lens.. these people are living life wrong but its not entirely their fault.. there's a lot of money in these 24/7 media machines and they more predatory than ever.

I wonder how many people saw this knew it wasn't exactly original, although I do love it. I live in Seattle and am very firm on not discriminating against someone, but also think Woke culture is largely BS (and white people BS at that) and have a hard time talking to most people outside of my work environment (mostly not Americans, which is a good thing) about these issues.
